Graphic design

Just asking on behalf on a friend.

Most colleges offer only diploma in graphic design and if I want to pursue my degree, I need to go overseas. Most probably I am not going to go overseas due to financial problem. Is diploma enough if I am planning to work in private sector in the future? Is it competitive enough for me to be successful in the industry of graphic design?

Some other universities offer degrees for graphic design such as Segi, UTAR, LimKokWing, etc, but they are mostly not famous for their graphic design courses(with exception of Lim Kok Wing, anyway, Lim Kok Wing is way too expensive), so even if I graduate with a degree from these colleges, I may not have a good value in the industry.

So should I choose diploma in reputable art colleges for graphic design or degree in not-so-famous art colleges?

ACCA in Kasturi and McOrange

Am thinking to take my ACCA course in either Kasturi or McOrange but am still searching whether any organisations or bodies are offering scholarships for people studying ACCA in these colleges. The other colleges are just way too far from where I am staying. Any comments? I have relatively good results for my Diploma in Accounting.
