Free alternatives to Windows Movie Maker?

I need to make a quick 2 minutes 'slideshow' of pictures over music. Problem is, Windows Movie Maker keeps crashing on me when I put more than 6 pictures in. Odd. Anyway, can you guys please suggest some alternatives to this that are free?

Linear Equation will be playing its last gig at Picture Perfect Ending : Indie Rock Festival, on the 7th of June at Sri Chempaka. We basically need another guitarist/keyboardist and a vocalist.

Contact me ASAP if you fulfill the following requirements:

- 20 years old or younger.
- If you want to sing with us, be aware that basically the bassist and I sing too. So, it's not solely you singing. Not that that will be a problem, of course.
- Please be proficient at your instrument.
- If you have your own mode of transportation, that'll be great.
- We regularly jam at Sri Petaling.
- Oh, and we're planning to get a demo EP out. We'll be recording it at Akarkarya Studio, Damansara. So be prepared to shell out some cash. Not that much, really.
