Raid0 Speed, Ramdisk, Diskless usage..

infact, i posted some review on lowyat.net hardware section. hopefully, these help someone who need it.

as far as concern, RAID0 with buffer on seem to be quite impressive in term of read speed and write speed. u can see throught the attachment file based on HD tach, pcwizard and file copying. the seagate 7200.11 is quite amazed.

later on i'll test some data transfer speed for 2 x 1Gbps network teaming configuration throught linksys unmanage swtich. server to 1 client and server to 2 clients.

theoriticaly, server with 3 x 500GB HDD could have approxiamately 200MB of transfer speed, but the bottleneck is on the 1000based network adapter. With teaming configuration, u could able to combine 2 card and running under NLB (network load balance). hopefully the transfer speed could beyond 150MB per second.

thx and have a nice day. Just my 0.02 cents

best regards

Takashi

how fast is the write speed for 3x500GB Raid0

i tested the read speed for the 3 x 500GB Raid0 using several of software, endup i noticed that the bottleneck is always on the write. this is a simple test to show what is the result on 3 x 500GB raid0. of coz if using the new VR150 will be extremely amazing....if someone ordered the vr150 kindly pls post some review as a reference. thx and have a nice day.

This is tsted with actual copying file procedure using Teracopy.
Copying 1GB data.
transfer duration: 6-7 sec.
3 x 500Gb 7200.11 RAID0 with buffer on

Raid0 with cache buffer......

i tested on some of the seagte 11th generation HDD and notice that running under RAID0 with buffer on....the speed is quite impressive. anyhow, i was wondering how accurate it is ..... tested using HD tach..

[addedon]May 18, 2008, 6:39 pm[/addedon]personally i think the seagate 7200.11 is really good.. for those who r waiting for seagate ES2. u might have a try on this.

[addedon]May 20, 2008, 5:24 pm[/addedon]if someone has tested any 500Gb raid0 kindly ls post it here
