Yet another Windows problem;

Computer just shut off and restarted without a BSOD!

When Windows corrupts itself one fine day, I'm moving over to Mac / Linux for good.

Abit uGuru problem

Asking help from Abit users;

my uGuru disables the monitoring (Abit EQ) for temp/volt/fan as well as Fan EQ.

As a result I have to re enter all my settings again and enable the monitoring.

Any help is appreciated (: Thanks in advance.

This happens only when I power down my rig and turn off the power.

If power remains on, no such problem.

I'm not sure if its the issue of the CMOS battery running flat, since my settings for FSB remains the same, and my motherboard is only 1.5 years old.

Default FSB is 272MHz (don't know why, hahaha!), but it remains at the 266MHz which I set.

I shall try adjusting the FSB now, will be back! (:

[addedon]September 1, 2008, 9:52 pm[/addedon]Alright, shifting the FSB in uGuru to something else, will also go back to 266MHz, but not the factory default of 272MHz.

When an sms comes in, the vibration and ringing continues even after she clicks to view the message.

Anyone encountering the same problem or have a solution?

Continuous HDD Activity

Asking on behalf of my friend,

HDD light is continuously on and laptop becomes very very laggy, cannot even playback movie. Task Manager does not show any program eating up resources, and 3GB RAM, so not a page file issue.

mcafee, spybot all installed, assuming not a virus / malware, could it be that the HDD is dying?

This would be easier for those who want to find information on how to assemble / troubleshoot their PCs. Will be even better if the Guides can be further seperated out to subforums, to make it neater, so that people can find the right thread according to what they want.
