Car prices before taxes

I just browse paultan.org. Came across this pdf file. It shows the actual price of imported car before any taxes (Import duty + excise duty + sales tax).

Although the price list is in 2006, there shouldn't be much different anyways.

Calf problem?

Guys, have something to ask here. The last few days I notice that if i sit for a long period of time (like > 1 hour) on the floor, something in my calf (I think it's the muscle but I'm not so sure) start moving violently (like contracting and expanding rapidly). I don't feel pain at all but of course I'm concern since it suddenly happen quite frequently. When that happen, I usually stretch my leg for around 10 sec or I start walking around the house. And it will turn to normal. It usually happen on my right calf but occasionally (may 1:5) happen on my left calf as well.

I hope you guys understand what I'm trying to say here. Not really good in explaining this kind of thing. Again, it's not painful but I'm kinda freak out right now. Just thought someone here might have some idea what actually happen. Can't show to doctor since it doesn't all the time though. Huhu.

Australia broadband

The federal government has finally begun its quest for a new national broadband network, today requesting proposals from interested parties.

"The National Broadband Network will represent the single largest investment in broadband infrastructure in Australia's history. The Australian Government has committed up to $4.7 billion and to considering any necessary regulatory changes to enable the roll-out", said Senator Conroy.

Any proposed network must supply minimum speeds of 12Mbit/s to 98% of Australian premises and would be rolled out over a five year period. It would also "facilitate competition in the telecommunications sector through open access arrangements that allow all service providers access to the network on equivalent terms." Retail pricing for consumers must be uniform across Australia, and be "affordable".

The proposals "will be assessed by the Panel of Experts announced on 11 March 2008, who will then provide their recommendation to Government so that by the end of year the Government can announce the successful proponent and the new network build can then commence."

The government is also separately requesting submissions proposing "changes to existing telecommunications regulations, to facilitate the roll-out of the National Broadband Network", and also ideas for how to serve the remaining 2% of Australian premises that won't be covered by the new national broadband network.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didnt our government gave the same amount of funding to TMNET to improve broadband service in our country?

1)Its territory is way larger than Malaysia
2)Internet provided is not best effort basis
3)A proposed plan of a minimum 12mbps!!

Buying a car

Hello guys,

I'm planning to buy a car soon. Could anyone tell me what should i know before buying a car? I'm interested more with the process that i have to do before getting the car, not which car to choose. Any advice is greatly appreciated. First time car buyer here.
