Why use 2D rather than 3D in CAD?

i just found a job in a company which design and manufacture some machines. the question is, why a company that has been establish for over 40 years still using 2D to design and even using this in their R&D dept. just curious though. btw, the design involve lots of parts and very complex assembly.

so what is the benefit in 2D compared to 3D CAD drawing?

Conclusion

1. Introduction

There are many kinds of CPU coolers out there ranging from fancy design, normal conventional, or gigantic cooler but what is most important aspect of a CPU cooler is the technology used by the cooler. The HDT is a recent new technology which can be seen from products like the Xigmatek 1283, Vendetta 2, etc. This technology has no doubt did a very good job on delivering greater and faster dissipation due to increased contact between the heat transport components.

From that, there is one product that uses this kind of technology which is the Sunbeamtech Core-Contact Freezer . So lets go through this cooler and see how kick as* it can be

Feature
1. Box and Bundle

The packaging seems strong and it has an handle for easy carrying. Although the box doesn't look very stylish but on the back of the box has list all the feature of the cooler including the MFDB fan, the heat sink and of course the TX-2 which they provide. Specification of the cooler s then listed on the side along with the compatibility list.

Front and Back

Side

Inside the box

Inside the box, you will see two package which is the accessories box (White) and the heatsink which i think is well protected.
