Problem with ASP.Net

My company is using Visual Studio .Net 2003 to develop a website for own usage.

We have been using it for almost 3-4 years now. But suddenly this weird problem occurred.

We (within the company network), cannot update any data from the website.

Whenever we clicked the "Submit" or "Save" button, the IE progress bar will process very slow, until the page get the error "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".

But from my PC, when I use the VS .Net 2003 to debug it pointing the database in the server, there is no problem. I can successfully save as many records as I wish.

Then, I tried using the http://localhost/... It also worked. No problem at all. But on my PC, when I type the whole www to access to the website, the problem will happen again.

I tried using a PC outside of my company network to access to it, and it worked. We can save data successfully outside of the network. Anyone can tell me what's wrong with my network??

Problem with Remote Desktop

Hi guys,

I'm facing this very weird problem with 1 of my client's PC.
We have 15 clients in different outlets connecting to 1 Server thru the Remote Desktop Connection.
All the 14 clients can successfully be connected to the server, but this 1 PC spent me a lot of time to find solutions, but still failed.

This is the problem in details...

Server Settings:
1. Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition.
2. The server already opened the port 3389.
3. Firewalls have been turned off.

Client Settings:
1. Windows XP SP3 Home Edition.
2. Remote Desktop Connection version: 6.0.6001.18000
3. The Remote Assistance under System Properties have been Turned on/Checked.
4. Everytime I try to connect to the server with this PC, this problem appeared:
"This computer can't connect to the remote computer. Try connecting again If this promblem continues please contact..."
5. However, let's say in 10 attempts reconnecting, sometimes it can connect, maybe 1/10 times.
6. When it failed to connect, it can't even display the Remote Windows login screen.
7. If I use the PC to connect to other clients' servers for testing purpose, it can connect without getting any errors.

My thoughts: I think there should not be any problem with the server as the other 14 clients can connect to it without any problems. But I have no clue on why that 1 PC is facing such a problem. Hope someone can provide me some hints... Thanks!!

PC keeps rebooting at Windows Startup..

Hi guys,
I'm trying to solve my sister's PC problem, and can't find the solution till now.
She have a lot of things haven't backup in the PC, so formatting it will be like killing her..

This is how the problem started...
Her OS is Windows XP SP3..
Today, when my sister turned on the PC, she have no problem until when she was surfing the net half way, suddenly the PC crashed and restarted..
Since then, it keeps on restarting after the screen "Windows did not successfully startup, choose to start in Safe Mode/Safe Mode with Command Prompt/etc etc etc"

I tried to put in the Windows XP CD, it loaded until the Setup screen.
When I click R for Recovery Console, then the PC crashes, with BSOD stating...
-ntfs.sys - Address #XXXXXXXX# - DATESTAMP XXX

The same thing occured when I hit Enter to Setup a new windows XP.
I read some threads about running chkdsk /r /p to fix it, but my problem is it can't even load into MS DOS to run chkdsk on the C Drive.

I tried changing the IDE cables coz afraid it might be lose but it doesn't help.

And I read about BartPE (http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/), and I followed the instructions and burned it into a CD..
When BartPE's Windows was loading half way, then the same BSOD with ntfs.sys error came again..

I dunno what is wrong there and can't think of the solution..
Someone please help..

Weird PC Problem

Hi guys,
I dunno what happened to my PC, I've done no changes to it..
But recently, like started early this week, my PC is facing some lag issues..
If I turn on IE and visit some websites, eg: Lowyat Forums, after i click the close IE button (X), it will lag awhile at the desktop. I will need to wait like 2 secs before I can click on anything on the desktop.
If I try to right click the desktop -> Refresh, after I right click it, it will wait for 2secs then only popup the desktop menus. Then only I can click refresh.
Anyone is facing similar problem? Or is it just me?
Any advice?

Now i'm planning to get a new Graphic Card to replace my Sapphire 256mb ATI HD3850 DDR3.

Actually all I want is to add the GPU RAM to 1GB, but there's no 1GB HD3850, guess I'll have to choose some new similar card to replace it.
My budget is only RM400-RM500, can anyone suggest to me which card is best for me?

All I need is a 1GB RAM card, and hoping the video performance will not be worse than my current card, similar to it is good enough...

Please suggest a card... thanks!

Hi guys..
I bought a new PC in July 2008, with the Graphic Card Sapphire 256MB HD 3850 DDR3..
My main reason for buying a new PC is because I want it to handle more online game clients..
But during that time, I didn't know that MultiClienting requires more GPU RAM..
So I thought 256MB HD3850 DDR3 > 512MB HD3850 DDR2..

After a few testing with my friends, I found out that MultiClient performs better and no lag on a GPU with higher RAM.
No matter is it DDR3 or DDR2..

So my question here is... Is it possible to add the RAM on the GPU?
Don't feel like buying another new card..
Please help..

Trojan or Worm?

Recently in my office laptop, i keep getting this AVG popup that a file has infected by Worm..
And I noticed that the file is auto generated, something like A0019020.exe, A0019021.exe..
Problem is AVG only removes the file but not the main cause of it..

MSHFlexGrid vs MSFlexGrid

Hi friends,

Recently I want to try to copy and paste rows/columns from a flexgrid into Excel.
I've searched through the net, found some ways of doing it through MSFlexGrid (without the H).

However, when I tried to change it to MSHFlexGrid, it doesn't work anymore..
So, can anyone give me some guides on how to copy and paste data from MSHFlexGrid into clipboard??

New PC lag in multitasking games..

Hi guys, I bought a new pc last week with the following specs:

Intel Xeon C2D 3GHz CPU
Asus P5 IP35 SE/EPU Mobo
2GB PC800 Kingston RAM
Sapphire 256mb ATI Radeon 3850 GC
160gb SATA2 HDD (8MB buffer)
IDE Samsung DVDRW
IDE 250gb WD HDD
Windows XP SP3 on the SATA HDD.

I thought this specs is strong enuff to handle multitasking online games, for eg, RO.

For the first 2 clients I open in RO, my PC can handle them well, no lag at all.

But if I start a 3rd client, my PC starts to lag, eventhough after I check at my task manager, the CPU is only at less than 50% usage. And it's with more than 1GB RAM free.

Is there a reason behind this? Or is this normal?

New PC startup slower than Old PC

and the process of booting up PC into windows takes like 1min+..

80GB WD HDD
52x CDRW

Both PC have just been formatted.. and is very empty..

all videos not working..

Hi guys..
I just bought a new PC last week..
but after I installed the video card driver (Catalyst and drivers etc), all the videos is not working..
What I mean not working is, when I double click the video files, eg wmv/avi/mpeg etc, I can only see dark screen at the Windows Media Player.
I've tried with Windows Classis Player, it's the same thing.. and other players as well..
I also installed all codecs, but doesn't help.

So after that, I tried to uninstall the video card's driver.
After uninstalling, the videos can work on the players!

I suspect that the problem is with the Catalyst Control Centre's configuration, which I don't know how to set.
So I went to the internet, and downloaded the latest driver for ATI Radeon 3850.
There, I downloaded Catalyst 8.6, and installed it..
But the result is the same, still blank/dark screens when I play videos.

Then I downloaded the driver alone (without Catalyst), and installed.
Then it works perfectly..

Question:
What is wrong with the Catalyst software?
Anybody experienced it??

Last month I bought a dozen of Dunlop shuttlecocks at the price of rm26.90, but each time we play can use up to like 5-6 pieces...

PC failed to start...

Okay, it started like this..

Just now, I tried to clean my CPU fan, heatsink etc bcos it's very dusty inside it..
So, first I took out the cpu fan, then i wiped it and cleaned it..
Then, I took out the heatsink...
Bcos it's too dusty within the small holes in it, so I decided to take it out and wash it by rinsing under my water pipe.
After it is clean enuff, so I wiped it to dry it off.
Then I took out my CPU and blow a bit on the board to remove all the minor dusts.

After I think everything is done, so I put back the CPU on the board and lock it..
Then I put back the heatsink fan (made sure the surface facing the CPU is completely dried and other parts about 99% dried).
Then I install back the CPu fan..

So, after everything was plugged back to normal, I tried to start the PC.
It started for not more than 2seconds then the whole PC is like powerless anymore. I tried to start again and the same thing happened again..
When I click the power button, the LED light is ok, but after 1-2secs, the light is gone.. same goes to every part of my PC..
The fans were working for 1-2seconds and then stopped working..
I dunno what has gone wrong to my PC..
Need ur help please...

All folder icons become invalid..

Hi guys..
I need your help urgently, as this is my office pc..
last nite, i uninstalled some programs from my Control Panel..
and i can't remember what are the programs..
but when i uninstall, it got prompt me that this dll file might be used by other programs.. delete it or not.. and i deleted it.. =.=
then this morning only i realized that some of the folder icons become invalid..
this may sound weird and hard to understand, but i hope with these screenshots it will be easier to understand..

1. As you can see below, my folders have all become like.. blank file =.=

2. Even my desktop default icons also become blank... as below..

3. Under my folder options, the folder icon oso become blank, and not changeable =.=

4. And in the customize desktop option, i cant restore back the default icon to the desktop even after i clicked the button. It remains with the blank icon. If I choose a different icon from the default icon, it can display without any problems..

It just happened to be that I can't choose the default icons from the customized icon setting. It will be defaulted to blank icon. I dunno what can I do anymore now... Need your help =.=

PC freezes for few seconds...

Since this Monday, my PC started freezing after awhile, not sure how long is the interval...

Even when I'm not playing game, just surfing LYN Forum without any background processes running, it will freeze (Everything is not responding) for about 3-5 seconds after a few minutes... Maybe like 10-15mins, I'm not too sure because it happens quite randomly.

When I'm playing a dota game, it will freeze (Everything cannot be moved including my mouse cursor) for like 3-4 times in the game... Anyone can come out with any ideas to solve this problem of mine?

I'm using an old PC.. the following is my specs:
AMD Athlon Barton 2600++
512*2 MB PC3200 RAM
80GB WD 7200rpm HDD

This PC was bought in year 2002, i know it's old, but... i still need help, thanks!!
