Fear of commitment

Hi CC.

Problem :
Fear of commitment. Like.. seriously. I come across, and are decently close with quite a few gals whom I consider attractive. I'm reasonably confident of getting them to be my girlfriend should I try and put in time & effort. But, I can't make up my mind. Every time I feel like chasing them, and wanting them to be my girlfriend, a million and 1 questions pop up, (ex. How will this affect my finances, How will this affect how I allocate my time, How will this affect my relationship with my friends, work.. and worse is the thought of, 'what if someone better comes along?')

I've been told I think too far ahead / worry too much. Any solutions for such the problem?

Noise from com when playing games

Hi, I'm running a Q6600, Ge9600GT, Gigabyte P35-DS3L. No overclocking.

I've recently having some problems with my PC when it makes a particularly high pitch buzz whenver i'm running some graphically intensive games (by my low standards lah). It's intermitten in nature, and stops whenever I'm out of the games.

Any possible explanations and solutions?

I've known for one many young men who are desperate, and eager to get themselves a girlfriend. Such threads are a dime a dozen in CC, so I call out to the exact opposite, those single young men who are not desperate, but otherwise intentionally want to be single. At least for the present moment, not saying that these few people will be single for life.

So, my question here.

Why? Why'd you want to be single at this period in time. Is there any reason at the present moment that drives such a decision? Is it internally motivated, or perhaps a result of bad experience?

To start the ball rolling, I'll start.

I'm single at the moment simply because my work presently prevents mean from having enough time for myself, what more a significant other. (yeah lame excuse, some would say)

What's with so many accounting topics?

Per title, I've noticed recently that there is a proliferation of accounts-related topics. Whilst I applaud them for their willingness to post a topic and hopefully get feedback on their possible future, but what is it with accounts?

Is it that desirable? Are our youth so money-minded that they'd forgo the enjoyment of a proper college life, a good working environment and most importantly, doing something we enjoy? (Honestly, I hate being stuck in a dead end job, having a cubicle, doing the same thing year in year out, and mostly dealing with people who are awfully incompetent)

Whilst I don't mean to discourage people who do accounts, but do realize the increase in supply will not be translated by an equal increase in demand, thus the average salary of any accountants will fall as a result. Furthermore, in case of any recession, accounts staff, being a support role, often gets salary reductions and no bonus. So much for a 'secure' and 'financially bright' future.

So maybe you guys can help me out here, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING when you did ACCOUNTS?! Why is everyone seemingly wanting to get into it?

Frequent dc at night

I live in Subang USJ, and recently, since last week i've been experiencing very frequent dc and not-able to connects at a certain period of time, specifically 8pm-11pm. On other times my internet works perfectly well, (although slow downloads but I don't care about that so much)

So what do you think is the problem? I'm on a Aztech router, which I don't think it's a problem since the problem seems to be internet traffic. So, do you think what I should do? report to Streamyx?

Resisting the urge to be a road bully

I try my level best to drive and follow the law. I do, seriously do.

But once in a while, today for instance, a sudden urge to drive very fast just hits you, and before your senses come and tell you to bloody slow down, you're already going 140 and zigzagging through traffic as if you're some ah beng or road ars3hat and harassing buggers. Later on I feel damn guilty that I've been a terrible driver, despite the ahbeng-ness in me feeling so high whenever I do so.

it happens to me often, especially when my mood isn't too stable, and despite me very well knowing I shouldn't be doing very fast when I'm not feeling very sane, I still do it. SEriously, I felt terrible after those lapses of insanity.

Seriously, so I pose the question to all of you, how do you resist driving like some road bully?

Road bumps

about road bumps, we know alot of cars can't go bumps at high speeds, otherwise they risk somehow losing control and going haywire etc.

however, i've known some cars that can go bumps at about 60-70 and still don't lose much control, and doesn't have that 'aftershock' (for the lack of a better word) that comes when you land.

so.. what really influences how a car feels during and after a bump?

some cars shake violently, some just get a thud, and plod along. and also, the noise. some cars, goign through a bump, u hear 2 sounds, 1 up, 1 down, whereas, some, i just hear 1 sound when it lands.

why?

i'm not sure this counts as a technical problem, but every time with the air cond off, (windows fully shut), i get this petrol smell in my car.. especially if i do a little revving (small kid mar, heavy right foot)

so i'm curious whether it's from outside, or inside through the air cond vents.

so far i've got a few ideas..
1. window/door leaking (because travelling at 90-100, i notice the sound from outside becomes quite loud)

I'm bored.
Very retardedly bored when I have exams next week, and when I should be only concerned about passing my exams, some screwed lady comes along and messes my brain, so whenever I'm bored, I think of her.

Yes. I know that sounds awfully... erm.. nothing better to do, but frankly, that's not the point.

Anyway, to the issue at hand.

Okay, so let's say, I'm pursuing someone. Or at least, trying to, however, something screwed up.(of cos something screwed up, otherwise I won't be here) I did one of the worst thing a person can do, which is telling the world that I likes that someone.

Frankly, here the mistake I made, I told my friends I like someone, and poof, the whole world knows about it, and the girl I like, (whom btw, at this point of time, isn't particularly close to me, merely sharing the same class but never spoke with each other)

So... that was about a few months ago, and things calmed down, and I was sincerely hoping everyone forgot about it, so I can pursue her in peace.

HOWEVER,
scandalous issues are bloody hard to forget, aren't they?

And so, my friends made so much noise about it and teasing about it that, I believe she knows I'm interested.

So that stink balls.

Simply because it pushes the balance of power to her side, leaving me the pursuing, and which means, she can 'fish', or a more appropriate analogy would be an auction, where she can set the minimum price.

That's not fun, ain't it?
So, tell me, what should I do. (just suggestions)

And anyone who comes along with a 'tl;dr' is a bloody screwup who can't read.

I believe our education essential forum sorely lacked a thread regarding this.

1. What professional qualification exist is our country/international,
2. How well are they recognized?
3. What field are they in?
4. Where to study/obtain these professional qualifications?
5. Part time/Fulltime/Others?
6. What level are they considered?

So far I've heard about ACCA, LCCI, CIMA, CFA, CPA, CCNA and others? City and guilds etc are also accepted.

Can anyone provide a simple overview of all the professional qualifications that exist in our country?

I'd like you to say which field these qualifications belong to, preferably. As in, finance, engineering, hospitality, management.
