Creative Inspire speaker problem ?

I am using Inspire 5200 and been running on a 2.1 setup all this while (since my sound car only stereo)

I used to always plug in headset to the controller to listen music when come to late night...(so it wouldn't distrub others)

God's know since when this thing doesn't work anymore...now i plug in headset, there is no sound...

Anyone can tell me what's problem ??

The controller spoiled ? It never require driver installation for this set of speaker though...

Here's the senario.

A friend of mine joined this company many years ago..during that time he only been given a letter of offer to sign. The company is basically a BPO (Business Process OutSource) company...so he has been plan under one of the project all this while. Payroll is coming from the company itself...meaning client pay the company, company pay him

His offer letter stated very clearly " offering you full time position as xxxxx in our organisation"

Later on the company started offering only contract (annually renew) to all the new join staff....

After so many year the project running..finally the company loose the client's contract AND 3-4 months before this project closing...the HR ppl annoucing to everyone about this sad news...

Same time they keep mentioning 'repeatedly' where they 'WILL" try their ' BEST ' to look for a job for EVERYONE in this project (If there is other opening in other project) but they CANNOT 100% promise...

In the there is opening in other project, their salary will go according to that particular project budget (definitely lower at least 20% ) as they current wrapping up project is paying slight above market range...also they will need to go throw the process of 'applying' and interview (if shortlisted)

Now come to the question, IS THERE A DIFFERENT BETWEEN PERM STAFF TO THE ORGANISATION AS WELL CONTRACTUAL STAFF ? If i am correct my friend told me contractual staff contract stated like they are being employed under the company but being PLACE in this particular project...something like that.

Fair enough...now HR started sending our vacant to this closing soon project ppl (the post is one level higher), and my friend went applied and shortlisted for interview but he didn't GET IT.

when he asked HR, WHY ? HR said he 'over qualified' for this project + his current salary doesn't meet the new project budget (remember they position is high level higher yet salary is lower)...he is very dissactisfy with the answer given...went to see HR directly...guess what, more or less same thing being told...HR told him they have offer a post to a contractual staff which service duration is shorter them him + salary is lower them him

When he asked "WHATs the different between PERM and Contractual staff" answer given is "NO different" at all...HR keep repeating "when there is no more project available, regardless or perm and contract..everyone will be redandunt" BUT HR will try their best AND IF end of the day the manage to have a opening (either one level lower or same level) regardless of salary offer , its UPTO my friend to take it...(in other word if my friend didn't take it (they will consider that not they are not offering the job instead my friend doesn't want it !!)....bear in mind this same level or one level lower post WILL still have to go through NORMAL internal application + Interview (reason given is they wanna know this person mentally) can accept such a DOWNGRADE or PAYCUT or not...

DOES THIS MAKE SENSE ??

His intention is ONLY wanna CONTINUE service for this company (he is kinda of ready to pay cut ) but now they have post opening (one level higher) but telling him he is over qualify and one reason because he is earning more at his current post....

SO IF end of the day only small potato position available...he has to accept it ??? remember is he PERM to the Company..he only asked for some 'appreciation' or 'recognition' as being service very long for the company....

What can my friend DO if end of the day there really no post suit him (maybe HR wanna offer some shitty post to him)

Annoyed WinPC Defender

I need help here. Yesterday i update my windows and dunno how i got this WinPC Denfender installed.

Its became very annoying where when i surf any website or click any link it keep popping up this screen.

I tot it was IE 8 problem so now i downgrade to IE 7. Goto my add/remove program uninstalled the WinPC Defender and its still bugging me

Can someone tell me what is this or how to get rid of it ?
