Java Locale Date for Malay language

Sorry guys, after looking thru back this old system, I tried to get the locale for Malay language for a project to display the month of the date in Java 1.4 environment.

I can't go back before I finish this. Anyone has a way for it?

For Java 6 I could do something like this though!

UserTransaction lookup Error

I am sure some of you java people are familiar with this. Well, it's just a look up to the transaction management part, but the problem now is that, the first time I run the program, it'll throw out this error when I call this lookup for the first time.

PreLodgementMgr.lodgeChargeROCDocument(): Exception: null
javax.naming.NamingException

but when I run the process a second time, it will go thru and the lookup was successful. Anyone with any info on this? Well, this code was migrated from WSAD into Eclipse and this has been bugging me for quite awhile.

Problem With Feedburner

Feedburner has been a bit different ever since it was owned by Google.

What seems to be the problem, they're not picking up my feeds which other feedreader does. I get the error 500 on my sites, which now makes me disable my feeds.

Example of one is

http://feeds.feedburner.com/danielctw

Until now looking into the web doesn't seem to solve this issue. Guessed I can stop using feedburner for awhile. Anyone here has a solution or faced the same situation too?

EJB 2.1 over EJB 2.0

First of all, considering that Java is an ever learning experience, and that some companies are still using existing technologies, I have this question to help spearhead for the current web application.

The current technology is EJB 2.0 here.

Can I run EJB 2.1 standard on a EJB 2.0 here. Searching thru Google brings me no luck whatsoever. Regards.

Well, based on the button if I click Delete File while selecting any checkboxes, it will pass the value. Now, problem is if I wanted to select any checkboxes and click the Another Function button which calls the sendCheck() javascript method while passing the desired checkbox value to the servlet. Anyway of sending it to the servlet file I have? Then retrieving it using

request.getParameterValues("Name");

Converting util.Date() to sql.Date() with time

Regarding SQL and Java

I've got a date column with format like

2/26/2008 5:06:05 PM

Now using java assuming I get Date

The above converts it successfully but without the 5:06:05 PM being saved along with this. How do I save the time along with the date!

As seen above this is part of the code for me to write to files, the problem is that within the same servlet, I tried calling the

but it will come out a duplicate of that file with no contents. IO stuffs really mess me up.

So as the above, anyone who can write a file and then save it using java then set the response to work properly

Tomcat 5 configuration

Yes, Have been using Tomcat 4 all this while, then now since I will be using Tomcat 5, anyone knows how to define the context path

Example previously in Tomcat 4 inside the <host> part

Now with Tomcat 5 and 5.5 there is a context.xml. So how do I go adding those???

Anyone with any clue about this? I tried adding the above into the context.xml and I get an Error 404. Thanks in advance!

Looking at cheques issued, if the data obtained is in number format. Any way which I can do to convert it into cheques style wording.

For example

1500.50 = One Thousand Five Hundred and Cents Fifty Only

Maybe there are plugins.. Anyone could share?

I am having trouble with itext in java.
Using PdfPTable, I can't find the way to add colspan unlike in normal document where you can use Cell to add colspan.

Example if I want to add in 2 columns I will declare

Javascript Problem again

OK, it's not everytime you'll get this problem but hey it's giving me a headache especially names that have the apostrophe ' symbol in them

especially when I am calling a javascript function which pass in variables, it'll interfere with the javascript functions.

Example invokeParent('1','Oscar D' La Hoya');

Yes I know about the escape sequence, the problem is that the name is taken out from the database. Any javascript to handle this?
