Cheap prepaid plan

I am using 012 from Maxis postpaid as my main line and will be using this for a long time. HOwever, I want a prepaid number on my second phone for emergency usage. It doesnt matter how much or how frequent I have to reload but lesser times is favored so I dont have to trouble myself by "Oh, it's almost due, need to reload, drives to 7-11.."

I do not want to take Hotlink because Maxis sometimes got connection error and as stated above, is for emergency purposes and off and on I will use it to call out. Would Celcom or Digi or U-Mobile be better?

By the way, I am past 26 (noticed many people mentioned something about below 26 take celcom, above go digi) but concern digi line aint too good if my priority is emergency. How about places like Langkawi, Redang, PErhentian, TIoman, Pangkor... Celcom sure got line, how about Digi?

Living in SS16/1

QUOTE(Malefic @ Jun 5 2009, 07:46 AM)

All the projects I mentioned are along Jalan SS16/1.

There's 3 projects between Carrefour and Mesiniaga. Subang Avenue is nearest to Carrefour, Casa Tiara is nearest to Mesiniaga, while e-Tiara is sandwiched between them.

Saujana Residency and Empire are next to Subang Parade and Wisma Consplant, separated by a road.

Olives is a bit further away, at the U corner where Jalan SS16/1 meets Jalan Kemajuan Subang.

As for Subang Avenues' subsale prices, I've no idea since the project has just been completed and the owners probably have not even collected their keys yet. If I remember correctly, the developer's price was around RM190k for studio and RM300k for 3 rooms. Expect the subsale asking prices to be at least 30% higher. Best if you look out for the ads in The Star, talk to a few real estate agents (take what they say with a big pinch of salt), then check the price with the bankers (who will ask their valuers) before you pay any deposit.

Hi All,

Just want to discuss about these 5 developments along SS16/1 Subang Jaya.
- Subang Avenue
- Casa Tiara
- e-Tiara
- Saujana Residency
- Empire

I am planning of purchasing a unit in SS16/1 for personal stay. Budget is about RM300k. Maybe few years down the road, let it go or keep it depends on finances at that time. If it's affordable, will probably go for those with 3 rooms. Appreciate any kind of advise / info you have for me such as:

1. Which of these 5 projects would be ideal and not expensive for personal stay
2. Which one of the above are still available? Meaning not sold out?
3. What's the net yield value for them?
4. What is the density for each project?
5. How many entry / exit points are there for these projects?
6. Will it jam on my way to work in Cyberjaya?

Any advise / information shared is appreciated.
Thank you.

Which console offer more RPG games?

Hi,

I am just wondering in which direction is Square Enix gonna go cause I love Final Fantasy series, Tales series is good too. Initially, I considered the fact that RPG is the more popular genre in Japan and FPS over in US / UK. However, at the current E3, Square Enix (FF series) seems to be going multiplatform, so is Kojima Productions (MGS series) Which of the current consoles offer more titles in terms of RPG gaming?

Discuss.

Warcraft 3 Custom Game Maps

I have 3 quick questions:

1. Where can I download the entire pack of Warcraft 3 (both RoC and FT) custom game maps when I've deleted them previously.

2. Are there any Hero Seige or the like that can be played as 1 player and with AI? I know Dota has AI but havent come across any Heroes map with AI.

3. Custom Campaign has always contained Exodus of the Horde and nothing else. I've not heard Blizzard releasing any new map for this but how do we utilize this section?

Appreciate your advise.

Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000

I bought the Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 3000 from Lowyat for RM129 yesterday so that I can use the keyboard and mouse on my PC. The keyboard works fine. The mouse is ok when moving cursor or scrolling horizontally (left to right) but it does not scroll vertically (up and down).

I tried everything here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/838398, does this mean that the mouse is faulty?

Buying a digital piano

I saw a Yamaha Modus series F01 at my friend's house in Singapore recently and fell in love with it immediately. She had bought it for ~SGD$5k after a 30% discount and it's compact, light, save space, nice design, nice sound, etc. I introduced this to my church member (over the Internet) and she like it too but we found out that Yamaha Malaysia do not carry this model and this F01 was released some time 2007.

I called Yamaha at KJ to ask about it, they only have the Modus F11 which is the higher end version of F01 with moving keys function. The F11 sells for RM29k. They also have the new Modus H01 (released 2009) which sells for RM28,900 but on promotion, it's only going for RM17k. I dont like the H01 because it look like a mini grand piano, dislike the color too. Then the F11 is way out of my budget, no promo. I just want the basic F01, should not be more than 14k.

I have not heard or tried other brand of digital pianos. We thought of visiting Bentley (if I spelt it right) and Yamaha KJ this weekend to source for an average one. Can someone recommend me a decent digital piano?

Any recommended models from Korg? Kawai? Yamaha? Roland?

The other alternative I have is the Yamaha CLP380. Budget is no more than 20k, even better if below 15k.

Key features I would like to have:
- 88 number of keys
- Natural wood keyboard with real wood white keys
- 3 level of Dynamic Stereo Sampling and above
- Polyphony max 128
- Support USB device
- Support Play MIDI
- Headphones so that I dont disturb while practising at night

Hope you guys can help! Do recommend if you know any nice diigtal piano showroom around Klang valley. Thank you.

Canon All-in-One Printer

Just a quick question to anyone else who owns any Canon all-in-one printer. My printer model is the MP500. It uses the Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow ink number 8. It also uses a Black no. 5.

How do I make it print black and white alone if all the other colors run out? I am having some issues here because Cyan run out and my printer dont allow me to print with black and white only. Taking out the Cyan ink gives me a "The following ink tank cannot be recognized" error.

Please help!

Car kena samun / robbed

I went to meet the painter for my new home yesterday. Then my mother and sister came to see our new house renovation works.

After that, my sister came with me to go for lunch while my mom wanted to go home. So, my sister and I in my car and my mom drove her Vios. We went ronda ronda in the housing area and then soon after, my mom drove off on her own.

20 minutes later, I received a call from an unknown number. I picked it up and it was my mom. She was at a clinic and she said 3 indian robbers came to her car, dragged her out of her car and throw her by the roadside. Then the robbers took her car and sped off.

The robbers came in 2 person in a blue nissan sunny and another person on a motorbike blocking behind. She cannot react because she panicked and the road she use to drive out is industrial area, so no witness around. Somehow, the strange part is, Toyota cars supposed to automatically lock the doors but this guy can just open (maybe by strength, maybe because it didnt lock but why it didnt lock?)

Luckily she only had bruises on her left leg, she walked towards a clinic nearby and get medical help, injection, iodin on her bruises. I went to pick her up, we went to make police report and today going to claim insurance.

1. Do we have to go back to UMW (where we bought the car) and get a evaluation of the car, then insurance will pay us 80% of the car's current market value?
For example: The car was bought for RM84k at 2004. Today, the market value maybe is RM50k. So 80% of today's market value, we only claim back 40k?

2. Or can we claim the amount we insured the car for?
For example: The car was bought for RM84k at 2004. We insured it for RM75k. We claim 75k?

HOW DOES CAR INSURANCE WORKS?

Hi All,

Just doing a simple survey on insurance. Hope you dont mind sharing.

1. Are you insured?
2. How many insurance policy do you currently have?
3. What kind of insurance policy are those?
4. Which insurance company is preferred?
5. How much you pay for your premium monthly / yearly?

Not a very popular question for No. 6 so I took it out. Just curious.

Choices of Gym

I recently went to Fitness First in AEON Bkt Tinggi Klang for enquiry. The registration is RM199, the administration is RM99 and my monthly passport corporate rate is RM158. I find this acceptable for me but my two other friends who didnt have corporate rate find the price a bit expensive. Even the home package is RM175 if I am not mistaken. So we are looking for alternatives now.

I know we have a "we need an archive of malaysian gyms." topic but I posted there for 3 days without any reply. One of our alternatives include going to the Aquatic Centre in Shah Alam but how complete is their gym equipment there? What about condition and whether if it's pack after working hours.

Anyone able to advise?

Hi guys,

I was just wondering if any of the experts here can give me feedback on this idea. We have a software called the Netcap, its a smaller version of Netmon and it is very user friendly.

On Win2k and XP, we can use NetCap for live capturing as well as assign the software group to a machine and capture the network trace during machine bootup time (you know, for slow logon issues).

Unfortunately, this does not work with Vista. Any other freeware that you can recommend me to capture network trace of a machine boot-up and login time?

Appreciate any kind of feedback / discussion.
Thank you.

Condo / Apartment

My gf (wife soon to be) and I are planning to get a condo / apartment for ourselves. We would like it to be somewhere along Selangor / Federal Territory. Places like PJ, SJ, KJ, OUG, Puchong is fine... Not out of the way places like Cyberjaya, Rawang, Selayang, etc.

I think our budget should be around RM200 - 250k. Our monthly repayment should NOT be more than 2k. Where is a good location right now? We both live on landed property and will continue to live in landed property. This condo / apartment is for like weekend stay or maybe later on rented out. Where is a good location?

Since we have never lived in condo / apartment before, what are some of the rules that will apply to us as buyers? There's some maintenance fee but how much is it these days?

Appreciate those who can guide / point me in the right direction. For those who wants to say its unwise to do that, etc, please be supportive or advise accordingly. If you're into flames, please stay out because I dont know, I baru ask.

Thank you.

Benz B-Class

Hi guys,

My family is considering of getting a mini MPV. We grew quite interested in the Benz B-Class (B170 high end model). However, I was told by my colleague that B-Class has been discontinued and those available here is locally assembled and it's garbage.

How much is it in the market? Is it a good buy? Anyone knows? If it is not advised to get the B-Class, what other options do I have?

Dog Problem

Hi everyone, havent been here in a while.

My second Westie, Moonie, has this habit of crawling with her hind legs down. Basically, what it looks like is imagine your dog sitting and yet walking. Sort of like struggling to push herself forward with her hind legs sweeping the floor. I call this crawling.

With this, whenever we ask her to GO HOME (the command to return to her cage), she will laze around and do her usual thing, crawling to the cage. Along the way to her cage, she will pee all over the floor as she crawl past, as if on purpose.

Because she is crawling / squatting, the pee she leaks through will kena her hind legs area. We will tell her loudly "NO!" and bring her to the pee and point it at her. Instead of looking at it, she will want to lay down on it. We always try to stop her if we are holding her. Sometimes, when we dont hold her, she will REALLY lay down on the pee and kena her face. She didnt seem to mind - sort of like a dirty dog but dont know how to tell that pee is dirty.

How do I solve this? Appreciate your advise.

Orange

Hi all,

I just want to ask a simple question whether an orange is acidic or alkali? I know it sounds weird but my friends and I was having a discussion on how eating more fruits will help reduce weight, etc and some say too much acid is not good for the stomach wall, etc. Then others argued it's alkaline. I know it sounds silly but please, let's verify.

Thank you.
