ATI Catalyst Driver

hi guys,

i have been using ATI for long time, only now wanted to check about the driver issue.

see, all this while i have been using updated driver + CCC only. should i install the ATI Catalyst suite? the one come with WDM integrated Driver. what is the WDM driver for? if i would use the WDM, any effect on the gaming?

tonight as usual, start my pc and suddenly this problems occur. visual also different. tried to reboot numerously but problem still occur. after a few attempt it came back normal.

hardware problems??? software conflict??? or the worst OS corrupted????

Hi all Sifu(s),

First of all take a look at my rig, it gave me a lot of problems while playing the final stage "RECKONING". It always HANG!!!

The initial stages were smooth with a little-little of lagging. but dont know how the final stage had given me hell lot of problems I tried to change to all MEDIUM SETTINGS also the same... hang, hang, hang & hang

Been playing a while with games like call of duty 4, NFS UC, C&C III etc with zero problems despite in all HIGH settings.

And I dont OC during gaming... all default settings

any sifu(s) can help???

i need to do a little survey to find out if local music lovers are mere armchair music critics or real concert goers.

please give me some feedback on the following questionaire:

1) how many live concerts/gigs do you watch in a year?

2) if we bring in foreign acts like zhang xuan, sodagreen, tommy emmanuelle, tuck and patti, corrinne may, olivia ong, shelby lynne, jacintha, emi fujita, aiza sequerra etc etc, would you buy tickets to watch them?

3) if not, what kind of artistes would attract you to pay money to watch?

4) what are your current favourite venue(s) for concerts/gigs?

5) what kind of price range for the tickets that you are comfortable with?

6) do you prefer the venue to be in kl or pj?

Foobar2k Converter Issue

Hi guys!

I tried to convert some of my good CDs to FLAC. However, after conversion those BITRATE dropped lower . During playback most bitrate were at 1411kbps. Is there anything i miss out!? please help i would like to keep the bitrate ratio.

In additional, during conversion shall we applied DSP? should it be?

Might need to apologize to LYN for opening up this thread. But i need to support the local Malaysia music scene. Just a small support for our local music talents, i mean a "real" talent.

Today, like a normal day i went to my favourite music shop at Subang Parade looking to add-on some more CDs collections. Out of the thousands, I tried this particular one. "Wow" thats the only word went through my mind. I never expect, frankly never, that Malaysia could produce such a good CD overall. Vocal, tone, guitar, emotive, songs presentation, "feeling" really heartbreaking! what more i can say.

All of these are selected Chinese memorable love songs. i tried both my pc & hi-fi, quality 80%! And i wanted to emphasize on the Guitarist, Roger Wang, his bossa nova & jazzie style is highly valued.

i been non-stop listening to this CD

To all music lovers / audiophile seekers

do try this...

2V1G is the brainchild of producer Leslie Loh and Chow Kam Leong. They wanted a simple yet heartfelt approach to classic Mandarin love songs. To start with, they needed two beautiful female voices that can complement each other, at the same time, provide enough contrast to differentiate from each other. And they needed a supremo guitarist who can weave some magic into the solo guitar and arrangement. Winnie Ho, Regine Tai and Roger Wang were selected based on those criteria. jus in case is relevant, i m using z5500 + x-fi platinum fatality champion series

note: i only listen to CDs and NO other formats even the losses one (FLAC, TTA, Monkeys Audio) not to mentioned the lossy types.

currently, does enjoy the WMP11 sound quality. And i do aware as some said the foobar2k + additional plugin is better, i wondering.

i download the lastest version of foobar2k with the additional 3rd party plugin, as follows: -

1) kernel streaming
2) Asio
3) DSP Delta
4) Secret Rabbit Code
5) Advance Control

Is the above, sufficient for GOOD AUDIO QUALITY? i do presume the ASIO plugin is sufficient right?

Hi guys,

X-Fi Platinum Fatality Champion Series + Logitech Z5500

i used to listening to music @ the "Audio Creative Mode", Stereo + Optical Input for Z5500. Play with WMP11.

Frankly, very happy with the sound quality. the mid & high frequency were fine except the bass at a moderate level. (what should i expect more from a single driver speakers)

i tried some the setting under the "Audio Creation Mode" but i cant figure out anything.

anyone could share their experience on this mode.

Z5500 DST Control Center Issue

hi all sifus, taiko, taukeh.....

after many many reading & auditioning. i hv decided to put up an entry-level hifi for myself. i had tested both system. i felt "comfortable" & "enjoyed"with both of them.

1) Musical Fidelity A5.5 Integrated Amp & A5.5 CD Player + Spendor s8e 2-way floor standing loudspeakers.
OR
2) Sugden A21se integrated Amp & CD21 CD Player + B&W 805s 3-way bookshelf loudspeakers

but here is the gimmick....

i would like to change the source (CD player i meant) from my PC!? It is not the budget issue, purely self-preferences.

frankly, i have not tried but just wondering the "quality". Asked most of the audio shop sifu. they said is possible however its required some tweaking and try & error. any pros & cons? technical issues?

your input/comments/assistance (constructive one i mean) is really welcome.

i just upgraded my rig as shown in the signature recently (less than a month)

after all, rather perfectly sound!!! i love my new stuff.

but there is one thing i would like to consider.

shall i go for 4870 x 2 cross fire?

currently my 3dmark06 score averagely 13,200++
the crysis benchie around 35fps ~ 37fps @ 1280x1024 2xAA

my game of crysis rather lagging sometimes...tho

other games works rather fine... COD4, EE3, C&C3, etc.

should i?

i am a new user of BitComet 1.04. Coupled with 2 streamyx lines a soho 1.0mb & a normal 384k one.

wanting to know whether is there any so-called settings or whatsoever to in order to make torrent download faster? or perhaps the speed goes faster? u know what i mean....
