hi all, im interested in journalist since a while back. but since im an IT degree holder, i didnt dare to apply a journalist job as my degree is not related to journalist at all. i've got 1.5 years working experience as a programmer, so is it possible to apply a journalist job? and how about the pay? since i were new, will they pay me as freshie?

hi guys. i just get this modem from my friend as my crappy Riger modem was fried few days back. Was happy to get this modem but couldnt set it up to connect to internet . and how to configure it with router mode? i got 2 PC at home.

anyone from puchong here? i cant connect to the internet at all, the handshake session just loops like that. and i cant even call to 100, since there was no dial tone for my phone at all. but was able to connect to internet last night few times, but was disconnected once i reboot my modem.

[wta] recommend me a nice 4port router with modem.

i plan to move to puchong kinrara, havent got a phone line there. So, i cant check the availability via jaring website which needs us to key in a phone number. anyone staying in kinrara able to get a jaring wired broadband there? i try not to get streamyx, that's my last resort, and no wireless as i need low latency.

Help,SD card cant access anymore

I got an Adata miniSD 1Gb card, was bought 2 years ago. I'm using it with my nokia 6288. Yesterday, after I set a password for the card from my nokia phone, while browsing some pictures from the phone, the entire phone just won't respond anymore. Therefore, I turn it off and restart. The next thing I found out is, the memory card cannot be detected anymore. I put it in my computer and read it using card reader, but to no avail. I can't even format it at all. I guess, it is because of the password that was being set to the memory card which prevents me from formating it. So, is there any solution that can let me "force" format the card? Or else, I have to claim warranty from Adata. By the way, where is the Adata service centre?

is it advisable to clock GPU in 2D mode (using ATItool on a 7300GT) to 70MHz from default 500MHz? i find it to be stable after i clock it that low. will it have any energy saving when clock in the speed? or just dont have any difference from its default 2D speed @350MHz?

my Aeneon 1G ddr400 RAM just spoilt,i went back to the shop and they told me they no longer provide warranty after 1 year. So i have no choice to find the authorised distributor (which the person of the shop say he dont know the auth dist for Aeneon), after search over the net for the auth distributor for Aeneon i still cant find any in malaysia. Anyone know the auth distributor for Aeneon products?

VLC media player, why it uses just ~1% cpu?

im new using VLC here, i as confuse why it uses so less cpu usage around 1% sometimes 5%. (most of the time 0%). is it VLC's codecs offload the video processing to the GPU? or is there a bug or something?

Abit IP35E problem

just bought Abit IP35E today, and to my surprise, the first 3 boots, it's like this; - it will boot up without any display for 3 seconds, then it shutdown it self and reboot...its kinda weird?! then sometimes when i modified some settings in the BIOS, the same thing happen again.

and also, when i try to change the multiplier of my processor, (using E2160), from 9X to 8x, the BIOS correctly states the speed i choosen, but when i boot up to windows, different speed was shown in the CPUZ. like for example, i set it as 8X 350 = 2800MHz, then in the CPUZ it will show as 9X 350 = 3150MHz. i thought it maybe a bug for CPUZ, but when i check with Control Panel->System, it shows as 3150MHz also.

So, is the E2160 multiplier unchangeable? and is it that IP35E will shutdown itself and reboot when i change the BIOS settings? IP35E users, plz enlighten me.

Well, i cant find any sub forum that i can post this topic. So i think this is the most suitable as it related to eye health.

Anyway, im looking for a new glasses, but wasnt sure the brand and the index that suits me. I came across Hoya, Crizal.... those optical shops talk sweetly about these brands, and at the same time they also market some unbranded lenses like XXXzeis which i forgot the name of it. The price difference is around RM150 between branded and unbranded.

so, is it important to look for branded lenses? both the branded and unbranded lenses comes with a year warranty.
