Hey bros,

Want to ask a question.... Just say I want to register a new car and choose the number at JPJ (dont want to give to runners, some runners are lazy to make an effort to satisfy the customers).. for Selangor number plate, can I do it at any JPJ in Selangor area (such in Jalan Sultan at PJ) or do I need to go over to JPJ Shah Alam (section 16)? thanks!

Hi, I have a pentium III R30 IBM laptop. According to windows, i have 256mb RAM. According to CPU-z, i got 248mb RAM under the category of memory(maybe my built in graphic card took 8mb RAM)

But, if I go under SPD, I can only see 128Mb under slot #1 and nothing for slot #2! If I have 256mb RAM, shouldnt I be able to see 128mb RAM under SPD slot #2??

Attached below are the screenshot of the CPU-Z

MEMORY

SPD #1

SPD #2

Hope someone can answer, thanks!

me vs cyra

In short, i pre-ordered an item from cyra thread (http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=42389). In Item Code: [Magazine][RO] D002, the item shown as only the pic scanned from magazine (http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w22/izatIsmail/pre-order/D002.jpg). As you can see, the item shown on the image has a BLACK skirt. But in reality, i got a brown skirt. (Note: at this time, there was no other info available on the item. Only pic)

So, cyra agreed on the refund of the total cost of the item (rm 55 = dress + shipping). But cyra would not cover the postage of the item back to her. And there's where we stuck at.

I meant, the item cyra gave me was not the same as advertised (false advertising). Not to mention lack of information (cause cyra didnt have the actual stock in hand), I want to return this item back to her but only with the condition that she fully refund + plus shipping to her...

What you guys think?

(already pm cyra to this thread already)

P4 2.8 HT w 512 Ram but Cannot Install Win XpSp2

Okay gurus out there, i have a problem here...

I have a P4 2.8 GHz with Hyperthreading, 512 Mb Ram, 40 Gb HD, >> that more like the requirements for Window XP sp 2, right? But i cant install Windows Xp Pro Sp2, i can only install Windows Xp Pro. The CD I use is a good copy, original licensed software and works on other pc. After installing windows xp sp2, it shows the bios, the windows loading up bar and after 5 loops of the bar, it hang just like that.

After closer inspection, i found out that the motherboard was the culprit! St00pid ECS 661FX-M rev 1.0 motherboard has some problems with windows xp sp1 and 2! On their website, I need to flash the awardbios with the latest bios but i cant! i treid flashing under msdos and also windows! It shows an error message " Perhaps Hardware Protected ".

Since i lost the user manual and the online manual has nothing on removing bios write protection jumper, i lodge a complain to ECS group last week but to no avail...

So gurus out there, can u help me? Is there a way for me to make a fresh installation on this st00pid motherboard? I have tried googling but the only option is flashing the BIOS, which I cant!

Thanks for reading!

MAndrake Network Firewall

Hi, newbie here. I have managed to successfully installed Mandrake Network Firewall on an old pc. It works! Hurrah! But i got two question about the MNF,

1. Under Firewall Rules -> Default Policies, I have set accept for the following scenario
-lan (client) to all (server)
-fw (client) to all (server)
-wan (client) to all (server)

my question is, is my configuration correct? Did I mis-accept anything?

2. In MNF, I wanted to block certain port ( chatting ). I have identified the port that the chat program uses, but can anyone teach me how to configure the MNF to perform port blocking? I heard it has something to do with iptables, but since I am in a n00b in linux, I really dont know what to do....

Thanks for reading anyways!
