Okay i read somewhere saying to test whether your heatpipe is working or not is by heating up the base and touching the top fins and heatpipes to see whether heat is transfered or not.

I intend to heat up the base of my heatsink with a low powered comercial hair dryer. Is it safe? Allngap did heat up his heatsink with the stove before and the heatpipe exploded. Will it happen to mine if i only use a hair dryer?

A month ago i bought a GC. When i was checking the board recently i noticed the warranty seal on the card starts at END of 2007.

Errr wtf? It's not even end of 2007 yet. I have emailed the local distributor and he wanted to know which shop i bought it from and the s/n. I asked what would happen to the warranty. I haven't check or reply them the infos yet.

Serial number on my GC

I bought my Galaxy Geforce 8800GTS from Cycom few weeks ago. Yesterday i was checking tru my resits to have them arranged and i noticed that the Cycom resit of my GC includes the serial number. Then i went to check my GC, i found that there isn't a serial number on the board. One of the corners wrote serial number: but the S/N wasn't there instead there were few letters and they were clearly written by marker pen and not the same as the serial number:. I checked the anti-static wrap that wrapped my board, the sticker together with the S/N is there. It wrote warranthy void if removed. Then i recalled that when i bought the card, i wasn't sure whether the seal on the anti-static wrap was broken or not. I told i wanted to buy and they opened to let me check. I didn't see properly. Is there a possibility the card that i got wasn't the card that was suppose to be in there? I've seen other 8800GTS of other brands and they had a warning to check the S/N matching the board and the box. How do i check the S/N?

Another thing is that Galaxy Tech gives 2 year limited warranthy for their products but Cycom told me it was only 1 year from Galaxy.
PCIe bus clock rate is 100Mhz by default. It is even shown to be 100Mhz in my BIOS setting.
Sleep mode

Sleep mode works by stopping all function and keeping all data to the hard disk. Does that mean the whole system eg. CPU, GC, HDD, PSU is totally shut down? The reason i'm asking this is because fans on the CPU and graphic card aren't running. Does heat gets produce in sleep mode?

What is hybrid sleep mode then? It's available in my Vista power options.
