New.. LG KF300

LG finally revealed the mysterious LG KF300 - a name tag that surfaced not long ago without any further information available. As it turns out, the LG KF300 is the GSM variant of the CDMA-only LG SV300 Wine phone.

The LG KF300 (be it Wine or not) is obviously targeted at the more... mature part of the population much like the original LG SV300. The name "Wine" comes from the "Wine Generation" (remember last time you set the alarm clock for your parents?). Its buttons, characters and speakers are twice the size of conventional phones making pressing, looking and hearing especially easy. It has even been awarded at the Ergonomic Design Awards event held annually by the Ergonomics Society of Korea.

With large alphanumeric keys and hardware shortcuts for the most frequently used features, the LG KF300 is not loaded with high-end features, but then again, it's not meant to be the next do-it-all multimedia device. And it's certainly the most feature-rich handset optimized for the elder customers that we've seen so far.

The LG KF300 is relatively large but compensates with a large 2.2-inch internal TFT display with QVGA resolution and the spacious keypad. Below the display there are four dedicated shortcuts for accessing Alarms, Organizer, Phonebook and Favorites.

The unique external surface hides a secondary 1.3-inch TFT display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. The LG KF300 is also equipped with a 2 megapixel camera, a microSD memory card slot, FM radio and will run under a proprietary LG Flash-based user interface.

The LG KF300 will be available in black and pink. Availability and pricing are still not known.

SAmsung G600 new color

Samsung and phones4u.co.uk have prepared an exclusive offer for the better half of the Earth's population (think women!). The new Samsung G600 comes in purple and offers a unique fashionable feature - the retail box will include three bottles of nail polish by nail inc., one of which will match the new purple styling of the 5 megapixel slider.

The Samsung G600 has become a true bestseller for the South Korean company. It has struck gold with the careful balance of offering high-end features such as a 5 megapixel autofocus camera along with a reasonable price tag.

Although originally perceived as men's stuff, the G600 was later on restyled to attract the female audience. First available in pink, and now in purple with a nail polish to match, the G600 is surely making its way to womens' hearts too.

Although women are not that picky about cell phone specifications and reviews, it doesn't hurt paying our Samsung G600 review a visit before you hand out the cash.

The Samsung G600 will be available through phones4u.co.uk starting on April 1.

LG LH2300

LG will offer their latest LG LH2300 Touch Web phone in Korea market. It is supposed to offer unsurpassed web browsing experience. Smells like a take at the Apple iPhone's main selling point. Although the LG LH2300 is not fit for GSM networks commonly used back here in old Europe, it's a good guess that a European version might also spawn in the near future.

Packing a wide 3-inch touch-sensitive display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, the LG LH2300 is targeting the Internet phone market that isn't quite crowded yet. The display is pitched as capable of displaying 26 million colors and is produced by Sharp.

The LH2300 uses a unique Hello UI that arranges all your contacts info in icons that you just drag-and-drop in order to use them. For example you can drag-and-drop icons of your favorite contacts to your mobile desktop and then when you type a message, you just drag and drop it on the icon. If you want to make a call, simply drag-and-drop the contact's icon to the call button on the bottom of the screen.

The LG LH2300 is further equipped with a 3 megapixel camera with auto focus, image stabilization, and face detection. There is also a DMB tuner to enjoy mobile TV on the go, Bluetooth 2.0 and a microSD card slot.

Although it looks rather large on the photos, the LG LH2300 measures 104 x 54.4 x 12.8 mm, which is actually the LG Viewty dimensions, but slimmer. The LH2300 is also lighter than the Viewty with its 95g as compared to 112 g.

The LG LH2300 will be available in Grape Wine and Navy Blue colors in April 2008 and will cost around 400 euro. Too bad it's Korea-only for now - if it turns out successful, we bet a GSM variant will be just around the corner.
