most thing I remove was drivers which consumes too much spaces, voice support (d'oh) and disable some services to get better response from my Vista Ultimate... so I still get what I paid for

what for boot up fast but opening application slow? i using 2gb ram but i opening autocad and photoshop at the same time will hang but using xp is ok, so how to explain? yeeah i alrady update all the patches, and thus copy files still slow too.

Well there is not much difference. Just that you won't have media center in business edition. But you can always install a 3rd party media player so I think you don't need to upgrade

well it closes each window one at a time compared to FF or Opera which close it all at once. This is to flush out the data from the protected mode so that it won't do harm to the system

true, there's lot of examples for that kind of quality. I usually "sample" the software before I buy it, so I won't regret and curse the devs whenever I feel dissappointed with it...

well not really, lots of users (including Microsoft Valuable Professional) complaint about the Vista "Ultimate" value, you only get some poker game, BitLocker, DreamScene (with only few video packs), and some sound scheme... which is shame since Microsoft promised a lot for us, Vista Ultimate users... and you won't get the newest Windows Media Center update, codenamed Fiji unless you buy another new PC... shouldn't Fiji offered as an "ultimate extras" to us?

Software is expensive, like it or not. The only reason most people ever give when they download illegally is because they are not willing to pay for it. I have heard my friends say, "just to benchmark my machine, I need to pay hefty amount for the full version of 3DMark07?"...

A product as fine as Windows Vista needs to further introduction to the world of buying genuine goods - it is the ultimate reason by itself to pay for original... you are guaranteed the most wonderful operating system experience ever made.

However, I do admit for us (Malaysians), paying in $ dollars is a bit of a pain. But again, its worth it... if you know what's worth your money...

Please read the previous posts. Torrent speed varies depending on what you download and what is the source. Getting high speeds is easy when the torrent has plenty of seeds or it is on private trackers that cares about ratio. Try rare torrents or torrents that is overcrowded with downloaders and this lame Vista half-open connection limit will kill you off.

tbh, I also experienced almost same problem with my Vista 32-bit SP1, yes, it's original... the problem occur when I selecting some files and/or folders, and right-clicking, and explorer will crash immediately... I think it was a shell extension problem, but Vista crash report didn't find anything...

xp is still the best OS that come out from MS, vista is not as user friendly as XP and the tcp/ip limit 4226 is a bad addition to vista and its hard to patch, in XP it is easy to patch
