No fail, 0 error 0 warning,
I'm using xigmatek scorp on the fan, but i change the fan to CM 90CFM fan. so for sure the sound wont comes with the fan.

No sound coming out when I use 1.225v rather than 1.2125v.. wierd right?

You arent precise about the sound, is it the buzzer or something else, how loud is it? And you're saying orthose still continued, and it didnt show fail?

Other things to consider could be the cpu or psu fan running at top speed making noise.

EDIT: I have the same psu, n yes there are times it has whined, i usually give the comp a whack n it goes away

Yesterday, i tried to use E2140 on 1.2125v running 2.4GHz.

Orthos blend test bring my processor to max 50C.

After the 4k test, it continue to 80000 test.. and it start making noise until end of test (8 hours), i'm not sure where it come from, maybe PSU..
does that means i should increase the voltage abit higher?

By the way, i've even pushed my E6420 to 3.6Ghz (1.375v) on this PSU, no sound at all ~.~

to be really2 sure run orthos at priority 10...but care your temp....your pc gonna be really2 lag though....ideal for overnight test.....

I think i'll skip orthos blend test.
I've played few games (crysis, fear, far cry) without hang or bluescreen.
But mostly i play WoW.

later if it hang i'll do the test

Hello there and welcome to the E2XXX family

Actually its the other way around, INCREASING voltage beyond intels recommended safe limits is what will cause your procs lifespan to reduce. Reducing voltage actually would help keep your system cooler. But at the same time, make sure your rig is stable at the reduced voltage, or else you'll have issues as well

hi there.. i've recently bought a processor E2140..
and i've tried to OC, which it stables at 3.2GHZ @ 1.425v
and i'm using it on 2.4GHz with 1.2250v
And inside my motherboard there, its default at 1.35v.

lowering the voltage will make the processor lifespan reduce? coz i got it to 28-30c idle and 45c max (pushed it with intel stress test on 2.4GHz).
