The sad thing is, UMNO still remains in power because a LOT of people in Malaysia support what they stand for, bigoted views and all. Until the majority of Malaysia's population learn how to accept different beliefs and cultures, to mutually respect one another DESPITE our difference, we'll forever be doomed to have UMNO (or an UMNO-like) party dominating our country's politics.

It starts with the people. It's just disheartening that the 'people' seem intent on harboring such narrow-minded views.

just because building a surau needs to go through the directors who are christians?

i beleive that those brothers wont be so narrow minded to reject the notion of building a surau because the schools

foundation is about helping the needy...

and many muslim scholars and famous people are from these so called " christian schools"

Like pendita Za, abba who is a renowned muslim scholar.

WHat about our so called "space tourist" he is also from a christian school.

the yang dipertuan besar of negeri sembilan's sons are from christian schools

whats the matter ??

even our good friend and the most holy of them all tuan guru dato Nik aziz also never make any noise pertaining

i think it speaks wonders about the achievement of the gov. to instill loyalty to the people, when some would side with their alma mater against them. guess we are very grateful for the missionary schools plays a great role in making us who we are today.

If you demolish mosques, you are gonna start creating problems. What they need to do is to issue a challenge to Christian countries, particularly the Vatican. I think most of the road names were changed during the time when BN appointed the town councils, chief ministers, chancellors of Internation Islamic University and what not. So these political lap dogs, eager to please their "benefactors" are doing whatever they can to fulfill the BN manifesto, which is to slowly Islamize the country.

I don't care what BN says about PAS being radical and all, to me they BOTH share the same agenda of subjugating the country to Islam.

what i think is, when these kind of overzealous pro-national people are put to power, that's what we get.
It has nothing to do with religion thing, or religious symbols. Instead, we are only looking at belonging to an institutions or group that we grow up with. Like a club.

I also don't understand why the need to change those road names. KL suffers the most. Losing lots of its old historically linked name.
If they so wanted to promote local heroes, there are so many new roads and highways being open up all the time. These new roads can be given their local heroes name if they wants. There are no need to change the old road name, even if they sounded foreign.

I wished we had more power back then to stop all those name changing.
