HELP me with this SPEC for desktop..?, budget around <RM2500 for game and stdy

hello,i'm a computer science student...
i would like to buy a desktop around RM2500..
last time i went on a survey to pc zone in lowyat..

the seller(at PC Zone) recommended me this spec..

Processor --> AMD processor Phenom Triple Core 8450/ 2.10GHZ / L2, 4MB / SB 3600 =RM390

SATA --> Western.. - 320G =RM 170

Ram --> Kingston/Mushkin (PC6400 DDR2 800)- [2G-Rm125] =RM 250(2 X 2G)

Mobo --> for AMD, Gigabyte MA770x-DS3 (16x,ATX+1394+V+S+L) =RM 330

Rom Device --> Asus 20x (SATA/LS) 22x/8xDL/14xD-RAM =RM 95

Casing & PSU --> C.Mater EXTREME 460w/500w =RM 165 / RM 195

Grapic Card --> Ncvdia Gigabyte 9500GT 512MB DDR3 Zalman =RM 350

TOTAl ==> RM 1750 / RM 1780

He selected a Samsung 19'wide 943BWX with a discount around RM645....making the total now about ==>RM 2395 / RM 2425

The final price for the customed desktop (the seller said) was RM2470 (with keybod & mouse/ wit out speaker) and Free DOS

He also did recomend Nvdia GC from 9600GT- 9800 GT.. which cost RM 480 & RM580 respectively..but i need to choose a lower cost LCD to stable my budget to instal these GC's..

My questions are

1. Does the offer worth within my budget ..?
2. Is the spec good enough for gaming,surfing,and making multimedia project such as animations(vital for my couse)..?
3. Is there any difference with the processor that i choose compare to intel..
--> i prefer an amd processor based on my friends comment plus cheaper
--> i choose AMD X3 cause i want a processor that is better than core 2 du0
but not as xpensive as quad core( budget).. - correct me if i'm wrong -
4. is the GC Nvdia good enough to play latest games.please suggest if u got better ideas..?

Do u any have other recommendations?

this evening me and my friend go to pc depot to buy a speaker. my fren want to buy the sonic gear enzo 6000.
when we want to make the purchase, we ask them to test the speaker first. but they dont want to test. they said that everything work already. they already tested it already. they said that they have 1 year warranty. dont worry. ok fine. since it's already 7pm, ok fine, we paid and take the speaker.

come at home, test everything, the subwoofer did not work. tried everything, still didnt work. might be the amplifier port is faulty or the subwoofer itself. damn.. we're really pissed off. simple things they make it hard. if they test it before, it would not be like this. now, tomorrow need to go back to the shop. really pissed off dude. we want to test, u dont want to test. then at home, it didnt work. if let say our home is just beside their shop, then it's nevermind lah. now to travel to the shop already cost a lot. damn lousy service by pc depot.

this is the second time i'm pissed off with pc depot. last time i send my samsung mp3 player, it took nearly a year to get it back and they're trying to replace it with a cheap creative mp3 player. after few times i post complaint bout them in lowyat, i think they read my post, then they replace it with new model. hahaha.. they think they can buy people by doing that? hahaha.. u're screwing up the business man...

Well as an expat currently living in Penang, I have been unable to find any of the parts I am chasing to build a new Home Theatre PC (HTPC). After a lot of online research here is a list of the parts that I have decided on.

So yesterday I happened to be down in KL so I thought I would visit Lowyat with the hope of sourcing these parts. After visiting what seemed every PC store in the complex here is a summary of my experience.

- If I walk into a store with a printout from the AMD website detailing the specs on a 4850e (Note the e at the end) please do not argue with me that there is no such CPU and once you finally acknowledge that it does exist, as I am holding a printout from AMD dont waste my time trying to sell me an AMD 5000 or 6000 as it a 'better' CPU.
- After I explain again that I dont want a 'better' CPU but the 4850e as its a low voltage 45W CPU ideally suited to a HTPC it really proves to me you have no idea when after I say HTPC you try to send me to the shop next door that sell HTC touch phones.
- I managed to find one shop that knew what an Antec brand case was but they only sold one specific model (the P182SE). I did see one other place that did sell Silverstone HTPC cases but unfortunately none of the models that I have considered as an alternate to the Fusion.
- If I ask for a Gigabyte 78GPM-DS2H please dont say OK you have stock then proceed to try and sell me a 78GM-S2H board. They are not the same thing, even despite your promise that they are.

On a good note, I did manage to find a WD 1TB Green Power drive for a nice price. For the future I know if I ever want a Coolermaster product, Acer laptop or refurbished Dell/Compaq PC then Lowyat is the place, for the rest I will have to wait for my next work trip to Singapore and pay a visit to Sim Lim Square.

Personally like more on brand Gigabyte and Asus, caused many friends is using it and all of them say never spoil before although some of them is using a long time already.
