Anyone using the new DSC H50 camera?

Bought mine 3 months ago. Great camera. Not DSLR but the zoom is awesome.
Selected after comparing (side by side) Olympus 570 and Nikon P80

The Photo Magazines called these cameras "Bridge" cameras because it goes
between a compact camera and a DSLR

i think people here should do more than model shoots. the photo gallery thread is getting pretty boring. everyday, model this model that. Booooorrriiiinnnggg. its tooooo how do i say it. too controlled. too technical.

i'm not saying that they're not good. Most of them are top notch. But come on. it's been a few months and still all i see are girl shots? i mean i used to get inspired by this thread. made me wanna shoot something everyday. gave me ideas, gave me photo-vision!! (meaning tht everything i see becomes a potential photographic opportunity XD) and i even plan for my shots!! but now, since everyone's posting people photos i oso ter-follow subconsciously. haha! although instead of hot girls, i took photos of my buddies and even myself. not good ones either. i lost my photo-vision!!! now it seems that i only use my dslr for point and shoot.

there are a lot of photographers here. and im sure some if not all can agree with me on this pop culture phenomenon that we've been experiencing. get out, get creative and shoot to inspire. people like me need it.

as a last note. Quit being technical and be more subjective on your photography. It's not all about the numbers. cheers

i think ppl are too much into photoshop. always can see a poster on my way back home, some local training 5 hours workshops for beginners charge for rm2,500. just crazy.

I think for beginners, the best way to learn photography is to train their eyes. not to devote too much on photoshop.
it will kill all their talent.

Wonder who silly enough to pay rm2500 for this.

I'm going to Germany.... Wanted to get a Digital Camera.... an All weather camera.... cause by the time i'm going to Germany.... It is winter..... Cold weather..... Need advice on which camera to get..... My friend introduce me Olympus... but i don't like Olympus..... any advice on wat camera to get..... mayb get an ordinary Olympus will do also.... Ok i have a Canon Ixus 75 camera. Ive added ver.req succesfully with GM1.01B version coming out whenever i press DISP and SET together.
Ive tried many DISKBOOT.BIN and PS.FIR but i cant seem to find FIRM UPDATE. anybody can help?? or find a correct CHDK for my camera??

It's been a trend for Nikon users to create specific threads for certain Nikon DSLR models and I think it's time to change.

I am sure many others and myself enjoy going through other threads such as the following: Canon/Olympus/Sony user threads because all those users hang out in one thread and not specific camera threads. They all seem to be one big happy family under one roof and everyone gets very involved with each others posts. In those threads, it's obvious there are no camera gear discrimination and segregation.

Having camera specific threads, one could notice sometimes there could be some slowdown or no response in that thread and sometimes even lost in the discussion. Sometimes some question/post posted in a camera specific threads can be answered by any user who knows the answer. So, why not post the question in one place? I also understand that existing camera specific threads do not stop/prevent/refrain anyone from posting in their threads, so why not have everything under one roof such as this.

I don't see that having one merged thread for Nikon users will do any harm as many other brands has been living happily under one roof (thread).

If there is a majority vote to it, I would seek advice from moderators on how the existing threads be merged or whether existing camera specific threads should be closed. A Nikonian thread does exist here but not all Nikon users post there as camera specific threads exists. The existing Nikonian thread is created by a moderator and Nikon user, Maniac. So, I think everything would be under control.

This poll/thread has been created to see how Nikon users respond to the thread topic.

Good day everyone, my friend own a Nikon D80 with kit.
As usual know the Nikon D80 ome with the basic lens without VR and Image Stabilizer and also without Speedlight
So I wanted to ask about the opinion from any professional photographer that what should a D80 get for all use.
The price of the Lens and Speedlight is preferable affordable price.

If anyone who have the knowledge of the affordable price for the Lens and Speedlight please give advice

P/S: Lens and Speedlight can be compatible as long as the price is affordable.
