Transfers power wirelessly, Wifi, 3G. can electricity did that too?

ive been thinking for a while, since we managed to transfers some data wireless ie. wifi, 3g, and things like that, and i do know that it uses radiowave. but the question here can we actually transfers power wirelessly? what i meant here is transferring the electricity wireless mean you have an adaptor that plugged into wall socket and the receiver is connected to device which received the power wirelessly. This is just some thought of mine. I dont know whether its possible or not. If you dont mind, please discuss.

Fabricating own PCB board., Or hand wiring.

Anyone know the process of making /tracing your own PCB board?

Before this, I was considering just get a plain plastic board and drill holes then hand wiring all the caps/resistors.

Now I am wondering which is better for conductivity. Hand wiring chips/caps/resistors mounted on a board or pcb traced path.

Assuming you wanna mass produce without factory involvement, which is faster in your opinion? Soldering on a pcb or a plain board with holes and cap/res legs hand wired.

If you wanna fabricate your own pcb board, how much you think it will cost you if you DIY totally ? Any health hazard to look out for ?

Do you believe in GHOSTS?, Is there any scietific evidence?

Hi all,

I just saw some news about a New Zealand woman who has two bottles that, she claims, contain ghosts. The ghosts were purportedly captured in her house by an exorcist. The bottles were auctioned on the Trade Me website and, after attracting more than 200,000 page views in a week and receiving scores of comments, were eventually sold for over a thousand USD.

The woman claims that she will not profit from the sale. After paying the exorcist fees, the rest of the money would be donated to an animal charity.

Source

My question: Is there any scientific evidence that such paranormal creatures do exist?

Thank you
What do you think about IMF in helping businesses?, i want to hear ur side of my story

IMF, as we all know it as International Monetary Fund, helps poor countries to overcome the downfall of some countries who are mostly poverty stricten.

But how does what they do help the companies worldwide from such host countries that are having financial difficulties to do well in international trade or commonly known as worldwide business?

2) Asking the governments to privatize financial institutions like bank systems and sell them to foreign organizations( in which a country slowly loses its identity)
3)Having loads of conditions for loans as well as checking the economic track records of such host country seeking for a loan.

So the big Question in my head.
How does this organization, IMF, assist Iceland(when they were declared as Nation Bankrupt) in global business?

And I am pretty sure that IMF was heavily protested in Iceland

So what actions did IMF take to reduce the friction of such problem in Iceland?

I understand, that IMF has now almost the whole economic power of Iceland due to its fundings to help them.
As such ways of helping iceland , they asked them to sell of their natural resources to like the lowest bidder and asking the governments to privatize financial institutions like bank systems and sell them to foreign organizations.

The IMF, in my opinion has helped to settle disputes over financial problems in that country. By that way, Businesses and organizations would feel safer to invest in Iceland because they know that a major powerhouse financial organization is now the backbone of Iceland.
Arctic Ocean gives up more methane than scientists,

Here’s another point of science that will give rational people concern, and which cannot in any way be explained as “no problem” by stolen e-mails: Methane releases from the floor of the East Siberian Arctic are much larger than predicted.

Methane is a more powerful greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide. Frozen forms of methane dot the bottoms of our oceans. Warming of the oceans might be able to trigger an explosive thawing of the methane hydrates, as the frozen forms are known, seriously adding to our worldwide greenhouse gas problems.

Methane hydrates releasing methane gas in bubbles in the ocean

http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/abstract/327/5970/1246
http://www.globalchangeblog.com/2010/03/ea...lot-of-methane/
http://timpanogos.wordpress.com/2009/08/21...es-evaporating/

Weedkiller atrazine alters sex of frogs--study,

As per the research conducted by Tyrone B. Hayes and his team at University of California, Berkeley, the use of atrazine can emasculate male frogs and also turn them into females.

The study has been published in the online journal ‘Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.’

Atrazine interferes with hormones
In a lab test conducted by the researchers, it was found that exposure to the chemical resulted in castrating nearly 90 percent of the frogs and alerting the sex of 10 percent.

Nearly three quarters of the frogs tested show reduced libido, low sperm count, and reduced testosterone levels.

Hayes, a biologist and herpetologist at the university, stated, “The effects of atrazine in the long term have been shown to demasculinize or chemically castrate [frogs], combined with complete feminization of some animals."

The scientists believe that these sexual abnormalities could be due to the chemical’s interference with frogs’ hormones such as estrogen and testosterone.

The researchers also found that 40 percent of African clawed frogs are born and brought up in water containing high concentration of atrazine.

Study’s findings challenged
Syngenta, a large Swiss agribusiness company that manufactures pesticides, including atrazine, has rebuffed the findings of the study, claiming that the study has been poorly conducted and there are many irregularities.

"We haven't seen these kinds of responses that Dr. Hayes reports," stated Keith Solomon, an environmental toxicologist at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada and a former consultant at Syngenta.

The manufacturer on its site states that atrazine has “no adverse effect on frogs,” adding that it has conducted research that shows “that atrazine, even at the slightest levels sometimes found in water, has no effect on the normal development

sos

[addedon]March 3, 2010, 5:07 pm[/addedon]its just matter of time b4 they used human as the test subj..

Malaysia, Right Track?,

Some said we, the Malaysian are not progessing based on the fact that we do not know how to think, what it mean is the entire entity of Malaysian citizens. And the slow progress we made accused by some politician is the prove of it. And that we should felt content even with a slight progress. However, i tend to think that the progress we made so far is due to the influence of the world that we had. What we exchange for their knowledge, wisdom, mistake they made is our natural resources and time. We, the Malaysian, are truly the copycat. Anyone agree??? Proton saga, japan punya. one example, one malaysia.

The argument start now. i would not actively argue, because observation at what you guys write is my education. my education start at 20. My probability is 1 out of 10,000.

But things get complicated when I buy 7 numbers and Magnum draws 23 numbers. So, how the calculation then? What is my probability of winning?

Any maths experts here?

Vaccine and healthcare., Help or harm ?

Vaccines are suppose to help us, but how does it relate to lowering population, or lowering carbon emissions ?

I don't understand. Make me understand.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaF-fq2Zn7I

"First, you have population. Now, the world today has 6.8 billion people, that's headed up to about 9 billion. Now, if we do a really great job on new vaccines, healthcare, reproductive health services, we could lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent..."

[YOUTUBE]JaF-fq2Zn7I[/YOUTUBE]

From 4:30 onwards.

No matter how I try not to misinterpret his message, bill gates suggests vaccines and healthcare can help lower the population.

Vaccines and healthcare are supposed to lower mortality, but how does it end up lowering population numbers?
That would mean either sterilization or causing disease so life can be stopped.

Assuming he's not talking about population, but carbon emissions, again..

How does vaccines and healthcare help combat human CO2 emissions if, in the first place, they're meant to 'help' reduce mortality.

I don't know if what I heard is correct, but this one is very suggestive of hiding behind mainstream medicine to do something else.

"Closed-minded, back-off", "Open-minded", come in.

Quite a few threads I saw used the phrase as per the title of this thread for its topic description, often when it is some kind of an sensitive issue, when more often than not, it is still being talked about somewhere else on the internet or IRL. These thread owners are indirectly criticising, openly being unaccepting, which ironically, being close-minded on their own towards the other so called closed-minded people. I would think that the more open-minded you are, the more accepting you would be towards differences, be it the difference in cultures, beliefs, opinions, preferences, behaviors, etc; yet, what gives?

It seems that, all of the sudden, the people who are labeled to be "close-minded" are second class people who shall be seen but not heard. Are we suddenly blessed with superiority, that suddenly being "open-minded" means we're now free to be with the "holier than thou" attitude. Which direction will a discussion lead to, or is there a specific answer we prefer to hear in place of the truth of the matter that cannot be achieved with the presence of close-minded people?

So where do we draw the line? When we call someone to be "close-minded", what do we have in our own mind? What are we closing down to? What justifies this behaviour? Should it be changed? How?

I know we're not supposed to take things on the internet seriously, but even off the internet, these people exists. How would you deal with them? Would you be brutally honest and point them their contradictory behaviour? Why so or why not?

I don't mean to be bitter and cynical, rather than, as V would put it, "remarking upon the paradox" and be anal about it.

TL;DR: Some "open-minded" people are not open enough towards "close-minded". What's up with that?

Authority of dictionaries,

If you had a dispute with a friend over the spelling of a word, and a few dictionaries give different spellings to the word, which would be the definitive one? And why?

Personally, I was taught to take the Oxford English Dictionary as the definitive source of English (or British English at least). The reason is that English originates from England, and the most revered linguistic institution for English is Oxford University and the Oxford University Press, which is the publisher of the Oxford English Dictionary. Would it be possible for these experts to be wrong? Who sets the rules in a language? And what gives them the authority to do so?

The same goes for Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka for Malay, and other institutions for Chinese, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, French, German etc.
