Dear LYN Ipod users, i need some advice from u guys...

As the topic said, i am intending on getting an iPod Nano 8GB which cost around rm600.

Then my cousin came up with a discount voucher saying that he can get an iPod Classic 80GB which cost rm699.

So, what u guys think bout ?

my personal opinion is i dont think i need 80GB of storage and Nano looks more stylish !

I have used up 11 pages but the application name in alphabetic order has only reach to 'p'

is that all i can have while i ve only used up 40% of the capacity?

i seem to be able to setting of 'skype' but it is not shown in my list of app? i have sync many times but it is still up to 'p' only, why?

i have login to facebook for once but my info is save. how to delete this info and will not display with used user id in the future?

iphone or itouch?, which should i choose?

i am looking forward to buy either an iphone or an itouch. both of them look similar but i am not sure which to choose. i will choose to buy USED for both the items.

i like the internet browsing and apps on it. but the phone feature i am okok with it only. because of the nature of the places i go, a delicate phone is not a good option. i often have greasy or dirty hands.

but if i were to choose a itouch, it will be a burden to bring an extra thing out and make my pocket heavier.

is there such thing to duplicate a simcard? i mean like making 2 copies of the same card?

iPod Photo 'sad face', Is it really dead?

Hey there.

I have an iPod photo, and I really really love it.
I don't want to upgrade to other iPods because they
can't run Rockbox. But anyway, a few days back my
iPod gave me the dreaded 'sad face' icon. Now it won't do
anything anymore. I opened the case to see if any ribbons]
were loose, but everything seems to be normal. It's not the
hard-drive because I can hear the disk spinning/reading.
What could be the problem? I hope I get to fix this because
I really love my iPod.

Hello Mac/iPod experts,

I have a black screen iPod Touch 1G 8GB. I wanted to restore the unit and i did try on DFU mode (done it hundreds time) where I managed once till the full loop then after reboot it still under DFU mode.

Most of the time I will stuck in restoring process as pictures below (on my ipod and itunes)

I have tried most of the firmware (.ipsw) but none of them giving me a smile

i like nano because the latest version has camera.. while touch is because the have wifi.
that's the main reason la.

and then i kinda found a perfect one which is Zii Egg. have you heard of it before? it has all the feature that i wan.. but it's not Apple brand.. which i've not seen it in msia at all.. even havent heard of it till i saw a post in this forum.. dunno whether to trust a not.. and i dont know where to get too.

btw, if i choose touch, which capacity shud i get? 8gb enough ah??

First and foremost, forum admin please forgive me and help me to move this topic to the relevant place if here is not the right place to do so.

Secondly, my idea to buy one of this is because of I need a navigation device and also entertainment like games and mp3.

Yesterday while I left my ipod connected to the laptop, wasn't syncing my ipod btw, Vista randomly blacked itself out (I heard that's an infamous problem) so I had to turn off my laptop, while my ipod is still connected.

Now my ipod just turns itself off, restart and turn off a few times, then it gives up. Repeated that a few times already.

Any way to fix that?

I am an ipod user for many years since the ipod mini time . Currently my latest ipod gadget is the ipod touch 2nd gen 32 gb. I would choose creative zii egg compared to ipod touch 3rd gen as my next portable media player. Because the reason is too obvious . ( this only applies if apple dont want to make a move )

To mod: this is not a repost. I think it would be appropriate to have a place where ipod users can share their thinking regarding this matter . Will they change to creative .. or stick with ipod touch blindlessly or with a valid reason . Please don't delete this thread . Screenshot taken . if this got deleted .. Hi, I actually have an ipod touch, but figured this is the place to ask.

I need to reverse tether my ipod touch, and I have tried with no luck after trying for half a day searching the net

My laptop (which has wifi adapter) is connected through LAN to streamyx.

Laptop LAN IP 192.168.1.101
Gateway & DNS 192.168.1.254 (modem)

Internet on LAN then shared through ICS

I then created an ad hoc wifi connection named "iphone"

Ipod touch then join "iphone" ad hoc connection

I don't know what to set for the
a) Router
b) DNS
setting in the ipod.

I have tried setting static IP's for the wifi adapter and ipod (192.168.0.1 & 192.168.0.2) , setting to router to the wifi adapter, setting the router to the actual streamyx modem, etc... but nothing seems to work. I have also read some instruction about setting my laptop as a proxy but that one is even more confusing (to me)

If anyone had done the exact thing I need please do share the exact steps needs. Thanks.
