COD Modern Warfare 2 Weapon Sounds,

Is it possible to install or replace the Modern Warfare 2 weapon sounds into COD Modern Warfare? I am more concentrating on Modern Warfare but I like the Modern Warfare 2 weapon sounds, is there any way to do this?

Again, I also wish to change the weapon model too. Modern Warfare 2 has better weapon look and sounds, especially for M4A1 and AK47.

QUOTE

According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, Activision has considered making a Call of Duty MMO. In addition to pondering the franchise's future, Activision also revealed that it will open a third studio dedicated to Call of Duty titles. Currently, Infinity Ward and Treyarch have been leap-frogging each others' releases, with other smaller developers lending a hand on the games' DLC and handheld titles. The article didn't name the new studio, but it did say that the mystery studio is now, "working on future versions [of Call of Duty]...

Let's milk the franchise...I believe after the MW2 case, "some" gamers would still get this.
When the "so called" famous FPS maker meets world no.1 MMORPG makers = World of Doody:Modern Warfail Online.

Source

QUOTE

Activision financial executive Thomas Tippl has said that there are plans to begin charging Call of Duty users for online services.

“It's definitely an aspiration that we see potential in, particularly as we look at different business models to monetise the online gameplay,” Tippl was overheard saying by IGN. “There's good knowledge exchange happening between the Blizzard folks and our online guys.

“We have great experience also on Call of Duty with the success we had on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. A lot of that knowledge is getting actually built into the Battle.Net platform and the design of that,” he said.

“I think it's been mutually beneficial, and you should expect us to test and ultimately launch additional online monetisation models of some of some of our biggest franchises like Call of Duty.”

As to why users will be happy to stump up, Tippl explained, “Our gamers are telling us there's lots of services and innovation they would like to see that they're not getting yet. From what we see so far, additional content, as well as all the services Blizzard is offering, is that there is demand from the core gamers to pay up for that."

source: http://bashandslash.com/index.php?option=c...=804&Itemid=111

I'm curious to know if people are interested to pay monthly subscription to play on IW.net

Petition 2 - To Infinity Ward,

PC Gamers,

I’ve come to make a topic here because of a post made by one of your members on the FPSAdmin.com forums prior to the release of Modern Warfare 2 showing support for the game from your clan/members.

As we are very much aware Infinity Ward have yet to respond to the concerns and feedback of the PC Community about Modern Warfare 2. PC Gamers have come under a large amount of criticism for acting out with a petition in advance of the games release without knowing what it would be like.

Well now the game has been released and we do know what it is like. This is a call for anyone within the PC Community to show their support for a new petition entitled ‘Modern Warfare 2 (PC) – Post Release’. The idea behind the new petition is to show Infinity Ward (with a completely clean slate) that we do really still care about the issues and are providing them with the feedback that they need to do good by us.

The petition covers the need for:

- Support for an in-game console;
- Support for the “/record” feature;
- Support for the lean feature;
- Support for auto-balancing;
- Support for multiple profiles;
- Support for better Graphics and FOV control;
- Support for actual ping readouts in ms (not graphs);
- Support for a tournament game type (like Promod);

Dedicated Server/IWNet specific:

- Support for mod tools and modded Dedicated Servers;
- Support for Punkbuster enabled Dedicated Servers;
- Support for Dedicated Server admins to choose player numbers (Max: 50);
- Support for PC gamers to choose if they wish to connect to an IWNet P2P server or a Dedicated Server (hosted by clans/individuals, etc)

Many PC Gamers are starting to give up on Infinity Ward ever making good of their damaging changes to the community. My response to that, and hopefully yours, is “let’s give it one last shot”. Let’s unite as one PC Community!

The IW forums post for this is at http://www.infinityward.com/forum/viewtopi...p?f=24&t=174552

The petition is at: http://www.petitiononline.com/mw2pcpr/petition.html

Thanks,
CS[Ex]JustJack
jack@celtsclan.com
www.celtsclan.com

As i discuss with others about borderlands games, there's a dude and join our topic and eventually leads the topic to Cod6 / Cod4 MW2.

This person is from Russia and has informed me that modern warfare 2 in russia is about 550 rubles.

550 rubles... how much is that? do a conversion in www.xe.com , if you do the conversion, you ain't gonna believe the price with your eyes.

550 Rubles is RM 65. that is about 1/3 price of modern warfare 2 price in malaysia.

As i don't believe about this info, and kept searching, there's some clue about this details, and also certain people has pointed out the game lowest price is 380 rubles. *Please do remember it is original and not pirated*

However, there's some drawback about russia version, because "No Russian" has been removed from single players, because of certain problem. That's the only drawback problem that i could have find for now.

As for language option, there's a few member in another forum has been saying that after they purchasing russian version of Modern Warfare 2, It will still be in english, and we'll be able to understand about what it's saying.

For now, i'm currently searching if anyone that is in russia are able to help me purchase modern warfare 2 cd key. because i don't really mind about removing the "No Russian" content, single player has always been able to play in pirated, that's the cold hard truth, i'm buying just for multiplayer.

MW2 My experience,

Hi mates, I got mine yesterday and I went to try out very late at night because my streamyx went haywire yesterday till midnight. Anyway, let me describe what I encounter with MW2 yesterday.

1. Installation
MW2 has perhaps the most troublesome installation of all the games I have played. You will need to get internet to install Steam and depending how fast is your connection; you spend about 1hrs to 30 mins updating your Steam. And then when you are done, you will need to register for a Steam account(duh) and spend another 20-30 mins installing you game. The ugly thing with the installation was that I could not customize any of my installation which resulted in me installing the game in my local C despite having an alarming small number of space left in the HDD. Fortunately though, the DVDs were well made and there were less trouble after they start installing into my HDD. I stated installing at 12.20 am and finally ended at about 1.15 am I think.

2. Single player.
To be honest, I jumped straight to Multiplay before this but I think I will describe the SP first. The very first thing I noticed was that they finally made the game loading more smoother than COD4 and COD:WAW. No more broken audio while loading unlike I encountered in COD4 and WAW. And when I started playing, I felt that the gameplay is way more fast pace than the previous CODs. You will find yourself running and jumping around trying to get cover as the AIs are slightly more brutal even at regular level. I remember I was playing hardened a certain map where I was killed continuously from people standing on rooftops. Took me a while before I change back to regular....I haven't finish the game but I think single player wise there shouldn't be any disappointment.

3. Multiplay
So lets get to the burning question, is the Multiplay playable with IW.NET? The answer is yes and no. Why yes? I was running on a 512kps broadband(screamyx yea; don't want cut) so I was expecting that I will have a lvl99 teleportation skills within the game. I was wrong. Although I have a 1-3 bar line, overall I was playing well against players from Australia. It was not so bad but you really need to plan ahead to make sure that you make the fire first not them. I have to say most gamers are probably casual gamers without speakers. I caught them a lot of times at their backs and killed them while I was staying prone with a M4.

The grey thing about the multiplay was perhaps the pace of the game. Most of the time, you will find out that most perks works and what really matters was if you are camping or rushing. And because the games I played thus far has been like fighting blitz with Germans, I unconsciously did not pay attention to perks like I did in COD 4. Instead, I just grab any weapon I am comfortable with and start running/shooting. Also, unlike COD4; there are hell a lot more covers in the maps. It was plain fun.

What I probably did not like the multiplay was lack of control over the room like voting and kicking. Also, I was baffled that they removed the usual shout commands/response/status from the game. I was playing domination and from time to time I wanted to shout for reinforcement but typing is such a hassle. So, in the end; IW:NET works BUT I think they will need to spend a hell a lot more time refining the system and yes IW:net does cater towards casual gamers not usual hardcore players. I think to draw more competitive play(because I felt the multiplay a bit like arcade but still its fun ); dedi server should be placed back as an option to help ease connection issues; thus making the game more challenging.

4. Co-op
Erm no I have not tried it out yet but I saw the list of mission line up. If you have a friend to play with you, you guys can do co-op for the whole day.

5. Audio can graphics
Loading is notably more faster than its predecessors(as mentioned) but it looks stunning. What I thought about this was that they simply the object rendering used in COD4/WAW but were clever enough to arrange it in such a way that the surrounding look spectacular.

Audio wise, they came out with a number of BGM remixes from the original COD4 which is in fact well done. My complain however is their choice of voice actors. Maybe its just me but I did not like Soap VA. He sounded like an old man who blow bagpipes in the last 5 years.

Conclusion
I decided to stop playing at 5.30 am(have to work hehe) and spent 2 hours on SP and 2 hours on Multiplay in total. Overall the games is good but I thought that they should work more on multiplay department AND a better installation software. Is it worth my RM219? That depends on you, if you like it buy it if not just look around for another game(and no, I don't regret getting my copy). Although I have to say this, " It felt like I am playing Killzone 2 on a PC, lawl."

ps
mods, I know there is another familiar thread but since he has a different point of view; I suppose you don't mind me putting this up. Thanks

Do you lean in COD 4 Multiplayer?, lean=show only your head around corner

I dont lean, it is too tricky to do it. I am not so pro.

Usually i use Q= stun bang and E=Melee attack, but in single player i use a lot of lean because the AI position always static.

So you guys lean in multiplayer?
