Foster Care and Adoption in Malaysia,

Hello,

My husband and I want to adopt a child or siblings here in Malaysia. We are in our 40's so feel having our own may not be possible. We have been married for 6 years. I am a housewife and my husband has long term work here in KL. I spoke with the Welfare office in KL and was told that their Foster Child program is only for Malaysians but if I find a child available for adoption, it is possible for me to apply for adoption with the courts. The criteria required is: 1) obtain a birth certificate, 2) the parent must provide a certified affidavit that they are willingly giving up the child and 3) we provide a health screening on the child to make sure they are healthy. I am looking for orphanages that have babies up to 4 years to adopt. Does anyone have any information regarding babies available for adoption? We are non-muslim and must adopt non-muslim children.

microwave oven to donate,

Hi, I have a new un-used microwave oven that I no longer want, and it's eating up space (yes, it's quite huge). This is a SUB-STANDARD good with no guarantee or warranty (not that i know of).

I dont think anyone would wanna buy it, so I was thinking of giving it away. Does anyone know if anyone/place would benefit from this?

Over half of Sabah's population is scattered amongst isolated rural areas. We hope to raise RM100,000 to help provide indigenous communities in the interiors of Tuaran and Kota Belud with the gift of education and literacy by equipping a mobile library and learning resource centre.

before this, my friends and I collected pull tabs from cans and exchanged it for a wheelchair when we collected it about 5000
Is this pull tab collection for charity is still on?

How do you like if there is someone or an organization in M'sia that helps individuals like you & me,
young or old to:

o Prepare us to retire gracefully
o Provide us a job placement for us to continue working after our retirement age
o Engage us in income generated projects
o Organize meeting places for gathering & recreational activities
o Organize classes for individuals to teach/share knowledge & skills & experiences to others
- while earning some income
o Etc...

If no such organization, may be is high time we start one, would YOU like to?

In NZ, there is a child fund where one could donate or adopt a children in South Africa. By adoption, one donates a certain amount of money per month, for instance NZ$20 per week.

Is there a similar program in MY?
