A question regarding torrents, using udp ports

as far as i know udp doesn't have error correction, unlike tcp

so... would it mean torrents via udp ports ending up with corrupted filez?

It seems Rapidshare has come back to normal.

But I seem to be getting extremely slow speeds on megashares ~ 20KB/sec on a 4mbps line, which is incredibly slow.

Using vpns or proxies doesnt help either.

Any of you experiencing issues or normal activity with Megashares?

Weird Speed Of Streamyx., After Super Heavy Rain.......

Venue: Kota Damansara (Cova Square)
Date: 20th November 2009
Time: 2.++PM till 9.++PM
Connection: Streamyx (Wireless)
Sharing: Yes! (7 of us are using the same connection & yet so fast)

Before raining heavily I've checked the speed. It was 999kbs(DL) while 470kbs(UL).
After raining heavily I can't connect to my Streamyx for 30 minutes.. then I've tried again.
This is the result. I'm paying them for 1Mb package RM99 or something like that arhh:-

Aren't all of the results above looks weird? It's getting higher? lol. speedtest problem or Streamyx
so kind gave me extra speed. The connection maintain like this for almost 7 hours already. Any good
answer(s)? or comment(s)? Anyone experience the same speed as mine at Kota Damansara area?

Hi, I plan to get a VPS in japan to bypass torrent/others throttling by ISPs. on my own, might not be a good idea, but if I do get it, I'm wondering if anyone might be interested in "subscribing" to my VPN service? maybe limit to 3 users and maybe just RM15 a month. if u can commit/book, I'll go ahead and sign up for it. this offer is only for senior members over 1000 posts (trust reasons).

unlimited bandwidth, softbank tokyo datacentre. super fast

Why do Maxis and TMnet invest in HSBB?, Do we really need that high speed??

As title, in my opinion, i don think we really nid tat 100Mbps high speed connection or 10,000KB download speed.

This case is just similar to SE phone for me, which only aim for high MegaPixel camera instead of high Quality picture......

if this 2 isp really have so much $$ to invest in HSBB, y don they put more effort on their current service??

i would rather subscribe a 4Mbps BB that provide full speed(at LEAST 4.0Mbps), Stable 24/7, Totally Unlimited Usage without Cap, No Dc at all, No Throttle of Download or Buffering (e.g.rapidshare, torrent, pps.etc), Good & Efficient Customer Service

than

a 100Mbps High Speed BB which only provide High speed but Low Quality, Unstable, Throttle everthing, n Inefficient Customer Service even if the price of 100Mbps same as 4Mbps.......

MAXIS 3G sucks!, Customer Protectionism

Maxis 3G Broadband eventually technically block you out shall you use more than 3G in total (downloading/uploading) volume.

In the contract, it was stated that Maxis reserve the rights to throttle the speed shall the customer use more than 3G above.

Maxis in reality throttle your speed as low to 0.00kbps to 23 kbps , technically it would be too slow and fit to surf the internet! Technically maxis totally block you out of 'unlimited usage' as they offer in the contract !

Checked with maxis personal in Maxis Centre near KLCC , they informed that the speed would only be throtlled to minimum 64 kbps, BUT the reality is not!

Even though follow up and complaints had been forwarded by many, yet Maxis only best in going pit around the bush ( not surprisingly the org cultures there!)

So, just be extra carefull with Maxis 3G Braodband !

Throttled the speed dosent mean they lower the speed to 0.00 kbps (thats blocking the usage) and not parallel to Unlimited Usage as claimed by them.

IF ANY OF YOU OUT THERE EXPERIENCE THE SAME ABOVE, KINDLY NOTIFY WITHIN, AS ACTION COULD BE TAKEN ON ANY LOSSES ( EITHER IN DATA OR MONETARY) SHALL MAXIS OBVIOUSLY FAILED TO COMPLY AS PER CONTRACT.
