HELP me with this SPEC for desktop..?, budget around <RM2500 for game and stdy

hello,i'm a computer science student...
i would like to buy a desktop around RM2500..
last time i went on a survey to pc zone in lowyat..

the seller(at PC Zone) recommended me this spec..

Processor --> AMD processor Phenom Triple Core 8450/ 2.10GHZ / L2, 4MB / SB 3600 =RM390

SATA --> Western.. - 320G =RM 170

Ram --> Kingston/Mushkin (PC6400 DDR2 800)- [2G-Rm125] =RM 250(2 X 2G)

Mobo --> for AMD, Gigabyte MA770x-DS3 (16x,ATX+1394+V+S+L) =RM 330

Rom Device --> Asus 20x (SATA/LS) 22x/8xDL/14xD-RAM =RM 95

Casing & PSU --> C.Mater EXTREME 460w/500w =RM 165 / RM 195

Grapic Card --> Ncvdia Gigabyte 9500GT 512MB DDR3 Zalman =RM 350

TOTAl ==> RM 1750 / RM 1780

He selected a Samsung 19'wide 943BWX with a discount around RM645....making the total now about ==>RM 2395 / RM 2425

The final price for the customed desktop (the seller said) was RM2470 (with keybod & mouse/ wit out speaker) and Free DOS

He also did recomend Nvdia GC from 9600GT- 9800 GT.. which cost RM 480 & RM580 respectively..but i need to choose a lower cost LCD to stable my budget to instal these GC's..

My questions are

1. Does the offer worth within my budget ..?
2. Is the spec good enough for gaming,surfing,and making multimedia project such as animations(vital for my couse)..?
3. Is there any difference with the processor that i choose compare to intel..
--> i prefer an amd processor based on my friends comment plus cheaper
--> i choose AMD X3 cause i want a processor that is better than core 2 du0
but not as xpensive as quad core( budget).. - correct me if i'm wrong -
4. is the GC Nvdia good enough to play latest games.please suggest if u got better ideas..?

Do u any have other recommendations?

Guys,

I bought a ADSL model (Aztech) last year but didnt use it.
This year I subscribed to the streamyx combo which comes with modem.

Last nite, I tried to swapped the stock TM modem with Aztech modem, but it fails to make a connection.

Do I need to install some special software from Aztech to make the modem works?

“The Government is serious in ensuring that broadband Internet access will benefit the rakyat, especially in semi-urban and rural areas.”

Shaziman reiterated that failure to comply would be subjected to penalty, possibly in the form of withdrawal of the respective performance guarantee bonds of up to RM7.7mil pledged with SKMM.

“Since WiMAX is a new technology which requires quite a substantial investment, it would be prudent for industry players to share infrastructure to minimise financial burdens and wastage in duplication of investments.”

I have just instal a DVR (model CVD-400S), it is say to have networking feature. Can view the CCTV online, not only by using computer but even using our handphone.

The area I am in, is not under Telekom, so I can't get tmnet streamx, I m using wired phone by MAXIS at the moment. The area I m in is at Pasir Gudang, in JB. My technician told me, if I want to use Maxis bb or other bb in connection to the DVR, the 'modem' must have the feature of 'DDNS' (i don't know what is that).

I need to know if the ZTE MF600 have the ability to preform the task?
Or I must change the HSPDA 'modem' ? (sorry if i m wrong, as I don't really know networking)
And what the best HSPDA modem to be use in my case, TQ.

I want to add on, Maxis Wired Phone is much more cheaper compare to telekom service, it just not all area is under maxis....but on the other hand.....Maxis bb just suck.

My connection was disconnected 1 hour before and then can YM, MSN but cannot surf.

Surfing to web was very slow including local web.

Hi all, Im facing a problem. I have a Riger modem which is from TMNET. and i bought an AZtech 802.11b/g wireless broadband router ( WL830LT4 )
I followed the instruction but it cant connect to internet....
I plug direct from Riger modem to my PC...connection OK..
I plug into router and to my PC, no connection detected.
I put all streamyx detail into it...is there any think to do with some other setting?|
i tried changing ADSL2+ to ADSL2 also the same...cant connect..
need help from pros...THX

is it possible to connect a DD-WRT installed router to an AP?

eg. I want my router to connect to a school network (it's legal, im a student there) to gain access to the high-speed internet, and have all my peripherals to connect to my router. hence i get free internet for all my devices. is this possible? does DDWRT have this capability?

curently im subscribing to a cable service provider, but whatever can save me money, i will do.

I can't connect to this website, according to the admin of the site,he said it's TMNet that's blocking the port, I can ping the site but I can't access it, only giving me "Connection Timed Out". Is there a way for me to "unblock" this port?

Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone can enlighten me on the speeds of Megaupload here in Malaysia? I have been using Rapidshare for half a year now and its treating me well (better than anything torrent will offer with streamyx) but im considering making a switch to get some stuff from Megaupload that i cant get for rapidshare. And also how are the availability of megaupload files around in the internet compared to rapidshare?

Hello! i have a problem..
I've subscribed to Streamyx 1Mbps package..
and i am living in sabah..
My download speed is awsome! around 850-890kbps and upload is 200-405kbps
BUT THE REAL PROBLEM IS:
i cant load youtube videos propely
they keep freezing and lagging!
I've used Speedbit video accelerator but no use!
Any ideas to share??

hye..i study in a college that offer broad wireless connection around the campus. but the adminitration warn us that they will be monitor the websites that students are surfing.....they said they can detect every connection & if they caught u while surfing porn OR online gaming OR downloading p2p/bittorrent , we will be dismissed from the college ...this wats bothers me .....cuz i want to play online games ...student aso have right to have fun..isit

the questions are...isit for real they can detect the my connection if i play online gaming? how they monitor? through ports no or any other..?i just wonder if they are just bluffing about the port detection...

I hav tried to block xunlei by router, but i juz can block the website onli, the port which xunlei use for download i can't block it because after block, i can't browse internet... i block the port 3076, 3077... download port is TCP 80..but TCP 80 oso using by internet explorer, i can't block it...any one can tell me pls?

setup wireless conection for large area,

hi to all. i have a problems i want to setup a wireless connection that can cover a large area like 500M can it be done.. i have read some article that say it can be done with good router and good antenna. i want to use 12dBi Outdoor Omni Directional Antenna
TEW-AO12O from TRENDnet and Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 for the AP and router, is this good enough for me to cover a large area. what i want to do is i want to put the wireless antenna at top of 24th floor building and looking down at the area that i want. i want to know is it possible to do this thing or not and if possible what the equipment that you suggest i can use to make this happen. please anyone help me.. thank you

i need to ask if any1 here knows about the methods of how network devices handle network congestion. but i am more interested in a specific technique in which a packet is sent to all device stating that a congestion has occurred and that a waiting period is to start...sumthing about the incoming network and the outgoing network....

any ideas??
