EDIT: some sits say it's username is admin and pw is admin also, but no use. it doesn't work. i tried pressing the reset button while the router is turned on, no solutions

Hi,

I need some help here with port forwarding setup using a Dlink DSL-2640T modem/router. I've been trying to configure the port forwarding to work which will allow me to view the CCTV at my office from home.

I had gone through the steps which is available at www.portforward.com and applied each of steps but I still don't seems to be able to access the CCTV remotely. I did registered a DNS with dyndns.com and captured the Streamyx dynamic IP correctly.

Is there anything else which is incorrect in my router configuration?

An example of my present CCTV environment;

CCTV terminal IP -> 172.16.x.x
Streamyx dynamic IP -> x.x.x.x
Router IP -> 172.16.x.x
dyndns.com -> mycctv.dyndns.org

Virtual Server setup in router;
LAN IP = CCTV terminal IP
Create & Applied new rules and assigned to port 9871

Help is appreciated.

Problem description: last time the dsl light wil blink, cant connect to streamyx, then i have to take up my house phone receiver only the dsl light wil be stable. now no matter what i do the light will suka hati blink, suka hati stable.

Problem description:
when i connect my modem straight to my pc, it can connect to the internet. this shows that my internet connection is ok.
when i connect my modem to the router, then through wired LAN connection to my pc, i can't online.
when i go to 192.168.1.1, under the Status tab page, when i click connect, it just tries to connect and finally fail. FYI, i have typed the correct user name and password, selected PPPoE in the Setup page.

why? anything that i've missed? please help.

Hi I'm planning to setup a wireless (N protocol, 300mbps) network in my house. (for internet, intranet HD video streaming, intranet music streaming, etc...)

Can anyone recommend, based on experience, the cheapest wireless router and usb wireless adapter model which is very reliable in performance (no dropping connectivity)?
How much do they usually cost?

Problem details A couple of days ago, my internet stopped working. I called streamyx up and they said they are doing upgrading in my area and the connection will be back up today at 7am. So at 7am i tried to connect but nothing worked. My LAN connection said limited or no connectivity. So I called them again and they said I have to set up a bridge a connection. They showed me how to do it and then I had to create a new connection to connect manually instead of previously just plugging in the LAN cable and using the internet. Anyway, once i connected to streamyx manually, the internet worked.

However, the other computers in my house cannot use the internet using wireless. All the other computers can find the network and connect but when they start to browse it does not work.

Could this be a problem with my Router/ Modem? I suspect maybe because there was heavy rain and thunder 2 days ago maybe it burnt out something in the modem? What do you guys think?

Linksys WAG54G2, Port Forwarding problem

Recently just bought a Linksys WAG54G2 Gateway.
Upgraded to latest firmware to solved disconnection problem.

Got 1 problem since the first use of the Gateway: whatever port number I forwarded has no effect on my connection.
My application use Port 6000, I added it to my port forwarding list but the port never open for the external connection to connect the application.
I enable remote management on port 8080, then scan using IP scanner, Only port 8080 is open but not port 6000.

Anyone having the same problem? I notice a lot of WAG54G2 users are complaining about this device.
Any solutions or tutorial to get my port forwarding work?

coz i trying to configure the priority for xun lei download is lowest and the sufting download is higher??

Problem description:

Very strange problem here. Router and modem as above. I have connected a PC via LAN cable to the router. Thing is, connection is fine (no errors). I can surf but internet is extremely slow. Tried connecting to Router from this PC, also very slow. Google loads very slowly, other websites don't load at all.

This only seems to be for the lan cable connection. If I connected using wireless (e.g. my laptop) - no problem, everything at full speed. Same if I use that PC and connect directly to the modem - full speed.

Any ideas as to what might be the problem?

Hi guys..
i wana ask everyone tat is tat parallel homeline wiring is cause of STREAMYX Frequence Disconnections?
because i and my fren had rent a Single-Storey Terrace House
then we juz subscribe Streamyx at Sept09..
then i face the frequence disconnection problem(RIGER modem-108, DSL light stable bt juz "cannot open webpage") all the time seen my acc had been activate..
i had make many many complain to 100 TM and then TM keep tell me tat they had repair the PORT and had solve my problem..
in fact, i still facing the same problem..

then..today gt a TM staff call me..he ask me is tat my problem solve and blaar blaar ask many ting..then suddenly he ask me is tat my house gt parallel wiring for TM telephone line..
then i say YES..1 wire is connect to living room and 1 is connect to Master Bed Room(bt we din use it call out or call in langsung coz our motive is using Streamyx only)

then he start boom me,blame me tat din mentions this parallel line problem to those technician wor..he say the parallel line is causing me frequence disconnection wor..
lol...how i noe those thing o..
then he advice me tat nid re-wiring the TM cable frm 'tiang telephone' to my house..then juz can get "Connection yang CANTIK"..
i try ask he..how much normally contractor will charge the wiring..
then he say around RM70=80(depend to the kesusahan of wiring)

OMG..i wana ask sifu-sifu..
is tat the frequence Disconnections is cause by Parallel Wiring?
is tat Parallel wiring is the PUNCA UTAMA bagi frecuence disconnections of Streamyx?
so..i realy nid re-wiring ar?

I am wondering. When I use this internet service to surf, the speed can only be around 10kbps. But when I download from rapidshare using idm, it can reach 50kbps? Why is that happening? I suppose that when download can reach 50kbps, surfing should also be the same.

I’m streamyx broadband user, just change Aztech ADSL modem to D-Link DSL-520B, but cannot connect to the internet.

Last time I just need to select the Dynamic IP and setting primary DNS to 202.188.0.133 and secondary to 202.188.1.5 under the TCP/IP, after that use the WAN Miniport(PPPOE) mode to connect internet, so simple.

Now I don’t know how to setting the D-Link DSL-520B Modem, what’s the different? Anybody who can tell me?

Problem description: I came back from work yesterday evening and found out I cannot connect to internet anymore. Whenever I connect I get ERROR 651. The DSL light is stable. Do you guys know what is wrong? I called TMNET helpline yesterday, they check everything and say the port and my account is ok. Could it be the modem kong? But the modem still got power etc.
