Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in Malaysia, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

We have been involved in Cavalier King Charles Spaniel since 1996 when we bought our first cavalier from England. Over the years, we have owned and exhibited some of the top winning cavaliers in Malaysia, including Top Toy 2000. We only breed selectively when we are looking for new show potential puppies or when we have good stocks from Australia.

At Lacavara, we strive to breed and raise quality puppies with sound temperament, correct conformation and who are true to the cavalier type. Our originally breeding program has been based on the world renowned LECHEVALIER (Australia) line which we have, continually imported stocks throughout the years. With a later infusion of other great kennels in Australia, stocks were also imported from EIREANNMADA and CAVASHON in recent years.

Occasionally, we may have puppies or young adults available for selected loving homes.

please visit our website for more details
http://www.lacavara.com - Lacavara Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in Malaysia

Zebra Dove, Need Help

I have a pet Zebra Dove at home and it seems pretty lonely too me. I am thinking of getting a friend for him/her. Thing is I don't really know where to buy a Zebra Dove. This pet of ours were actually given to us by the previous house owner who doesn't want it anymore so we adopted it as a family member.

Here's the question:

1. Where can I find a pet shop that sells Zebra Dove in Klang Valley area? (I stay in Subang)
2. What is the price range for one Zebra Dove?
3. Is there any way that I can tell the different sexes?

Many thanks for all your help!

LEOPARD GECKO (VERSION III), All about Leopard Geckos & More ...

LYN LG Thread Version 3 - Welcome!

LEOPARD GECKO

The leopard gecko, (Eublepharis macularius), is one of the most commonly kept lizards today. These hardy saurians come in a variety of colors, patterns and sizes. They are a great species for an indoor home pet. Unlike other geckos, Leopard Gecko DOES NOT stick on walls, does not sprint off like lightning when we approach the,, they are not aggressive by nature, they have EYE-LIDS which makes them very cool looking and they do have that irresistible smiling look on their faces. Below are some basic information about Leopard Gecko and Link for you to do some intensive further research if you need.

Size
Leopard Gecko are hatched at around 3-4 inches long and on average as an adult they would measure around 8-10 inches.

Life Span
Leopard Gecko can live up to 25 years and some has recorded longer in captivity.

Housing
Leopard Geckos are really easy to care for. Unlike other reptiles Leopard Gecko does not necessary need a very large space to live. They would thrive very well in a 10 gallon tank. The setup is relatively simple.

1. Water Bowl
2. Dish Bowl
3. Calcium Dish Bowl
4. Hide Box
5. Moist Box

Example of a setup:

Diet
We commonly feed our Leopard Geckos with either MEALWORMS, CRICKETS or SUPERWORMS. It is advisable to gutload your feeder insects before feeding it to your Leopard Gecko. These insects are also dusted with calcium powder + D3 and multi-vitamin between the interval of 2-3 days. It is essential to provide them with Calcium, Vitamin D3, Multi-vitamins in order to keep them at their healthiest form.

Mealworms, Crickets and Superworms

Lighting & Temperature
We are blessed here in Malaysia that we are not a cold country, on the other note, Leopard Geckos DO NOT need any form of heating source. Unlike other reptiles, they do need their warm basking spot. Reason to this, other reptiles depend on heat to digest their food. Leopard Gecko do not need those heating lamps or any form of heater (unless they are it a fully air conditioned environment most of the time).

Leopard Geckos are nocturnal creatures. They are slightly more active during the night compared to the day.

Handling and Temperament
Leopard Geckos are easy to handle, most of them would just lay on the palm of your hands when u hold them, a small bunch of them will wiggle for an escape. But given time, most of the Leopard Geckos will get use to our way of handling. Listening from the many experience and adventure of Leopard Gecko owners, these amazing lizards has been giving us an endless share of fun watching them grow into their personality.

MORPHS & GENETICS

Here is the unique part about Leopard Geckos. They comes in a variety of morphs (meaning coloration, patterns, designs and sizes). How the morphs are determined are based from the genetics that was used to make it. Below are some of the interesting morphs around that you could find today within our Malaysian community.

RAPTOR - Ruby Eye Patternless Tremper ORange

ENIGMA

SNOW

TANGERINE

SUNGLOW

and much much more .......

You could always visit here --- >Leopard Gecko Wiki to know more about Leopard Geckos and their many morphs.

And if you would love to purchase a leopard gecko... you could get from the few breeders around.

Here are some links for some local breeders:
www.thegeckoshop.com
infinitileos.webs.com
www.docserpent.com

Other forumer breeders around:
billygoatz
meento
luc
mattemily_85
echosmiles

You could also drop in and ask any of of us for information and we will be more than happy to guide you through becoming well informed about Leopard Geckos.

The morphs and possibilities are endless...do join us to know more about this wonderful amazing specimen for a pet.....Cheers*

Have a nice day

Separation Anxiety?,

Performing a charity concert in aid of the rescued, safe 240 dogs

Dear Friend

We are 2 of many individual rescuers who rescue stray animals. We started with 1 animal and then 2 and then more and more and then.....out of control. The number has now ballooned to 240 dogs and cats.We are now facing SPACE constraints, MONEY constraints,LABOUR constaints, etc.Neverthelessm we are still taking as we cannot stand to see them walking the streets and running the risk od being cruelly treated/inhumanely caught by dog catchers. Most important,we want to work with other genuine rescuers and animal lovers, and in our small way try to reduce the stray problem.

It is our fervent wish to have a piece of land to start a no-kill shelter to house the strays and provide them a safe refuge. We want this to be a place where people and animal can interact with the eventuality of the animals being adopted. This requires financial means and resources as the animal have to vaccinated, neutered and fed

Mrs Kam, without hesitation, offered to start the ball rolling by holding a charity concert in aid of these stray animals. Mrs Kam herself is a rescuer and she understands our plight.

1.We need a piece of land to start the shelter and we are willing to pay reasonable rental for it.

2.So buy tickets and come for the Operafest Children Choir concert on 20 Dec 2009 each ticket cost RM30. Please Sponsor generously to help us help the strays.

For more

Time:
8.30 pm

Venue:
Best Western Premier Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur,
Jalan Putra, (opp. The Mall)

Dealing method
COD=Sg long
Pos express

Hie, I am going to get myself a toy poodle soon. The breeder sent me a video of the puppy of which I will be getting.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Az5pGNtPhto

I will be getting the white ones. However, I would like to ask about the ear. From the video, I see that the white poodle's left ear stands up. I mean its not the drop type. Is this normal? Will it drop as she grows older? Thanks a lot in advance.

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of keeping a social pet. Something with low maintenance cause budget abit low,at the same time no body odor cause my family's kinda sensitive towards house cleanliness. & also one that can be trained in terms of litter training & responding to my call. Something like a dog in a sense.

I've heard that both hedgehogs & rabbits meets these requirements? Hope you guys could provide suggestions.

Hi,

I'm currently a golden retriever owner. As a owner of this medium to large breed, i understand golden retriever eats a lot.
If a golden retriever is sold at around 2 - 3k (with mka), i'm not surprise at all.

Recently i am looking for a poodle for my wife and found that nowadays a 'normal' (not from champion or show line) poodle also cost that much.
Is there any reason behind that?

Many thanks for your reply.

Good Home Guard Dog, Looking for Further Advices

Hi to all the experienced dog owners!
I have tendency of keeping a good home guard dog. I currently have a GR, as everyone knows it is too friendly. Therefore, I decided to have another dog to guard my house and meantime as GR companion (so that it wont feel alone). I read through the previous topic of keeping Rottweiler, German Sherperd, Mastiff etc.

I tried to keep a Rottweiler before( pinjam from dog seller for about two weeks). Wow! the body odour very stink!! It loved to pee and shit everyway. Really had hard time cleaning up. Furthermore, it was hyper active and mastered in destroyed things (my poor plants and garden statues..). To me, it does not like GR, easier to train and disciplin...(forgive me if I am wrong ya)

I really need help. Anyone out there could possibly to give comment and suggestions?

TQ

Hi All,

Went to the vet today and was told there's actually two method of spaying.

1st - remove only the euterus and the female dog will still be on heat.

2nd - remove the ovary and this way is more effective.

Can anyone clarify is this true? She even showed me pictures of dogs which she have operated previously, where the euterus was swollen.

and there's 2 ways of operating as well

1st - uses anesthetic

2nd - uses oxygen

She adviced that second method is more expensive and safer.
